    Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately judge the abnormality of a car speed detector, by detecting that the change ratio of a car speed continuously exceeds a predetermined range of a definite time. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of the output shaft of a transmission, a rotation sensor 28 detecting the rotational speed of said output shaft is arranged and the output data thereof is supplied to the I/O port of an operation apparatus 34. The operation apparatus 34 constituted of a microcomputer determines a car speed on the basis of the input data from the sensor 28. Further, the change ratio of this determined car speed is calculated, and when the calculated value exceeded a range reaching the min. acceleration speed of a vehicle from the max. acceleration speed thereof and this state continued for a predetermined definite time, it is judged that abnormality is generated in a car speed detector. By this method, the racing of wheels at the time of the hopping of said wheels during running or stoppage is clearly discriminated and the abnormality of the car speed detector can be detected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make fail-safe disposal accurate with accurate detection of abnormality of various sensors and computers by discriminating whether a detected value of a front wheel steering angle and an indicated value of a rear wheel steering angle are in an abnormality discriminating area set according to vehicle speeds. CONSTITUTION:Input signals detected with two routes of sensors, a front wheel steering angle sensor 28 and a rear wheel steering angle sensor 44, are inputted to both a main computer 72 and a backup sub-computer 74. Both computers 72 and 74 perform operation and the results are outputted to a servomotor 42 of a rear wheel steering device 16 and a drive amplifier 56 of a neutral lock device 18. Each of the computers 72 and 74 consists of a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, an input part and an output part. An abnormality discrimination signal of the output of the computer 72 is inputted to the input part of the computer 74 from which are outputted neutral restoration and lock signals to the amplifier 56.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the stability when a car turns by prohibiting the shift- down instruction by a speed-change instruction means when a car is in turning state and the accelerating speed is over a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:When a car is in turning state, a turning-state detecting means M4 detects the degree of turning from the revolution speed of a steering wheel, and an accelerating-speed detecting means M5 detects the accelerating speed from the opening degree of an accelerating pedal. The both detection values are input into a speed-change prohibiting means M6, and when each of the both detection values becomes over a certain value, and it is judged that more acceleration deteriorates the turning performance of the car, the shift-down speed-change prohibition signal is outputted into a speed-change instruction means M3. Therefore, new shift-down speed change is prohibited, and the cornering of the car with over power is prohibited.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle to improve operability of display selection of a display device and relieve movement of an observing point during visibility of a display device and recognition of a front. SOLUTION: A display part 14 is situated at the central part of an instrument panel 12 situated in a position not so much movement of a visual point from a front observing point during operation and at the central part of an instrument panel 12 situate far from a drive in a car room and an operation part 18 is independently separably from a cluster 16 which the hand of a driver easily reaches. In this case, the driver selects a two-dimensional position on a display part 14 by the pointing means of an operation part 18 without moving a line of sight to the operation part 18 and the function of a desired apparatus is selected and inputted. As a result, both improvement of operability of a display device 10 for a vehicle and relief of movement of an observing point during visual confirmation of the display device 10 for a vehicle and recognition of a front are practicable.

A pad is made to come into slide contact with a disc rotor, and initial braking force is generated. In the case of the movement speed being more than the set value, the accelerator pedal 134 is released and then a brake pedal 10 is stepped on in most cases, so there is little chance of brake operation becoming wasted.

In this case, the limit of the car speed variation is set, and if the variation is within the set limit, the rear wheel steering angle is set on the basis of the car speed, while if the variation is outside the set range, the car speed is substituted by the limit car speed within the set range, by a car speed substituting means D, and the steering angle ratio of the rear wheel is set on the basis of the limit car speed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the loading ability of goods on a vehicle by preventing mechanical contact between the first driving means to steer a rear wheel at a relatively large steering angle and the second driving means to steer the rear wheel at a relatively small steering angle. CONSTITUTION:The right and left front wheels are steered according to the rotation of a steering shaft 12 caused by the rotation of a steering handle 11. The lower part of the steering shaft 12 is provided with a control valve 17, which supplies hydraulic pressure to a power cylinder 22 according to steering torque. A rear wheel steering device B has a relay rod 31 functioning as a steering mechanism to make the steering of the right and left rear wheels possible. The relay rod 31 is connected to an output shaft 36a of a control valve 36, and has a piston fixed to itself, and is driven by a power cylinder 37 formed in a housing 32. An electrical control circuit 65 controls an electric motor 66 on signals issued from various sensors.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable execution of lateral movement, by a method wherein an actuator, motioned by means of a vibration command, is located between wheels and a car body, a distance between the wheels and the car body is increased and decreased by means of vibration, and an external force is exerted in a movement direction during reduction of a contact surface area between wheels and a road surface. CONSTITUTION:An actuator M3 is located between wheels M1 and a car body M2, and a vibration command is issued from a vibration command means M4 to a vibration control means M5. By means of the vibration command, the vibration control means M5 forces the actuator M3 to effect vibration motion to increase and decrease a distance between the car body M2 and the wheels M1. When the distance is decreased, the contact area between the wheels M1 and a road surface is momentarily decreased. By exerting an external force when the contact area is momentarily decreased, the car body is moved in a desired direction. This constitution also enables lateral movement of the car body.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately determine car speeds at the time of the acceleration and braking a vehicle, by determining the max. value or min. value of plural kinds of car speeds as the car speed of the vehicle concerned when a rotational speed was generated in three or more kinds of mutual wheels. CONSTITUTION:Rotation sensors 60-66 for detecting the rotational speeds of front and rear wheels are provided and the outputs thereof are supplied to the I/O port 36 of an operation apparatus 34. The operation apparatus 34 constituted of a microcomputer determines the max. value of the outputs of the aforementioned sensor outputs as a car speed when slip or lock at the time of braking was generated in the certain wheel. When spin at the time of acceleration was generated in the certain wheel, the min. value of the aforementioned sensor outputs is determined as a car speed. By this method, even at the time of braking or acceleration, an accurate car speed can be calculated.
