PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of improving stability of viscosity coefficient of a coating liquid for a chronological charge transport layer, and forming a charge transport layer with smaller film thickness change.SOLUTION: A method includes a step of dispersing particles including a charge transport substance and a binder resin in a fluid medium, to prepare a fluid dispersion; and a step of producing a coating film of the fluid dispersion, heating the coating film, desiccating the coating film, dissolving the fluid medium particles including the charge transport substance and particles including the binder resin, to produce the charge transport layer. The fluid medium includes a specific liquid.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of obtaining high-definition images over a long period of time by maintaining very stable electric properties and high mechanical durability over a long period of time, an electrophotographic photoreceptor formed using the method, an image forming apparatus and an image forming method using the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and a process cartridge for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer and a surface protective layer on a conductive support, after forming the surface protective layer by photocuring at least a radically polymerizable compound, a supercritical fluid and/or a subcritical fluid containing a charge transporting compound is brought into contact with the surface protective layer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in wear resistance, capable of substantially avoiding peeling and generation of a ghost even in long-term continuous use in an electrophotographic apparatus, and capable of controlling a granular feeling, a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by stacking a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer on a cylindrical support in sequence from the cylindrical support side, wherein the charge transport layer contains a hardening resin and a thermoplastic resin as a resin in such a way that a content ratio of the hardening resin to the entire resin in the charge transport layer increases in a film thickness direction as getting away from the charge generating layer side. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by stacking a photosensitive layer and an outermost surface layer 5 on a cylindrical support in sequence from the cylindrical support side, wherein the outermost surface layer 5 contains a charge transport material and a hardening resin in such a way that a content ratio of the hardening resin in the outermost surface layer 5 increases in a film thickness direction as getting away from the photosensitive layer side. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of preventing deterioration of images due to repeated use, and to provide an apparatus for forming an electrophotographic image. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an underlayer, charge-generating layer and charge transport layer that are formed sequentially on a conductive substrate. The underlayer includes a metal oxide, binder resin and heat stabilizer. The charge-generating layer includes the binder resin and phthalocyanine charge-generating materials. The charge transport layer includes a charge transport material, binder resin and heat stabilizer. Then, the electrophotographic photoreceptor and apparatus for forming the electrophotographic image with the photoreceptor are provided. The photoreceptor contains a specified combination of heat stabilizers in the underlayer and the charge transport layer. By using a combination of butadiene amine compound and hydrazone system compound or benzidine compound as the CTM of the charge transport layer, light resistance and thermal fatigue resistances are enhanced, and deterioration of images due to the repeated use can be restrained.
