PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a tape-like RE-based oxide superconducting wire in which a superconduction raw material solution can be applied to a base material by a desired film thickness, and a superconducting characteristic is excellent.SOLUTION: An application apparatus 10 applies a raw material solution of an oxide superconducting material to a surface of a composite substrate 25 that is a base material that consecutively travels. The application apparatus 10 includes a bar coater 11 that applies a raw material solution to a surface of the composite substrate 25, and in the bar coater 11, a groove 112 is formed in a travel direction of the composite substrate 25. A composite substrate 25 travels on the bar coater 11, thereby a superconduction raw material solution in the groove 112 is applied.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a thick and uniform superconducting film on a base material .SOLUTION: A base material 10 immersed in superconductive raw material solution 50 is pulled up by allowing the material to alternately go through solution interfaces defined by pull-up ports 41, 42 having different diameters. Diameter of the pull-up port 41 is a length being a first distance in which, when pulling up the base material 10, the solution is attached to the surface of the base material pulled up by the solution 50 in a concave shape between an end portion 10a of the base material 10 and an inner wall surface 41a of the pull-up port 41. Diameter of the pull-up port 42 is a length being a second distance in which the solution is attached to the surface of the pulled-up base material in a convex shape. By performing coating of the superconductive raw material solution combining the diameters, the film thickness of the end portion 10a of the base material 10 and the central portion 10b is made uniform. This eliminates occurrence of the origin of crack, and oxide superconducting wire having a thick superconductive layer can be manufactured.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tape-like RE-based oxide superconducting wire material having excellent superconducting characteristics with a desired thin thickness.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a tape-like RE-based oxide superconducting wire material includes: a coating step of applying a superconducting raw material solution on an intermediate layer formed on a substrate; a calcination heat treatment step of calcinating the applied solution to form a calcined film; and main firing heat treatment step of laminating a calcined film by repeating the coating step and the calcination heat treatment step so as to form a superconducting layer precursor and applying a main firing heat treatment to the precursor so as to form a superconducting layer. The superconducting layer is formed of REBaCuO(RE represents at least one element selected from Y, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, and Ho). In the calcination heat treatment step, a batch-type electric furnace is used to make the calcined film.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a superconductive crystal can be easily produced in a short time and a superconductive crystal can be easily oriented.SOLUTION: A superconductive crystal production method includes heating a Cu-containing material to a softening and fluidizing range with the Cu-containing material held between holding bodies and then cooling it to precipitate superconductive crystals. A cooling rate is 0.1-15°C/h. The Cu-containing material is an amorphous material and has a composition containing 10-30 mol% BiO, 20-50 mol% SrO, 5-30 mol% CaO, and 20-50 mol% CuO.
