Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a large volume of an odor gas, to prevent incomplete combustion, and to promote miniaturization of a device, by using catalyst foil as a heating resistor to introduce the odor gas from the primary side and burn it, and by forming it into clean air to exhaust it from the secondary side. SOLUTION: A deodorizing device 1 comprises a combustion catalyst 2 which can be heated by electrical conduction, a combustion catalyst 3 without being heated by electrical conduction at the secondary side thereof, and a tubular case 10 storing these. The method of carrying the catalyst in catalyst foil 2a is to form an aluminum oxide whisker 7 in the foil which is made of a heat- resisting alloy material 6 of stainless system containing aluminum. The insulating layer 8 of crystallized glass is formed on the surface of the heat-resisting alloy foil 6, in which this whisker 7 is formed. After this insulating layer 8 is formed, a noble metal component such as platinum and platinum-palladium is carried as the catalyst. The generated odor gas is fed to the deodorizing device 1 by a blower, and it is deodorized through combustion by the combustion catalyst 2 to be exhausted as clean air.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful exhaust gas treating device capable of discharging a harmful exhaust gas (particularly ethylene oxide gas discharged from an ethylene oxide sterilizer) in a completely intoxicated state and miniaturizing its self. SOLUTION: In the harmful exhaust gas treating device composed of a harmful gas adsorption and desorption vessel 1 and a catalytic combustion reaction vessel 4, the harmful exhaust gas is directly introduced into the adsorption and desorption vessel 1 to adsorb the high concentration harmful gas on an adsorbent in the adsorption and desorption vessel 1 and on the other hand, a previously heated air is introduced into the adsorption and desorption to gradually desorb the harmful gas adsorbed on the adsorbent 1 to form a harmful gas/air gaseous mixture containing the harmful gas in a preferable concentration and the resultant gaseous mixture is introduced into the catalytic combustion reaction vessel 4 to be completely combusted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitrogen gas with a low power and at a low cost by providing a combustion catalyst portion at the downstream of or at the intermediate portion of a boiler convection heat transfer portion and supplying an oxygen reducing fuel right in front of the combustion catalyst portion. SOLUTION: The heat transfer system of a boiler 1 is constructed such that water is supplied to the boiler 1 through a water supply inlet 4 by way of a preheater, the water is fed to a radiation evaporator 2 by way of an economizer 5, and the radiation economizer 2 includes a large number of water tubes 6 which are arranged in parallel and repeats combining and splitting of water by means of headers 7 so as to make the flow of water in respective water tubes 6 uniform. Then, an approximately 85% of supply water is evaporated in this radiation evaporator 2 with combustion heat of a boiler fuel and an ensuing remaining portion evaporator 3 evaporates the remaining water and heats a part thereof. In such a construction, a combustion catalyst portion 11 is provided at the downstream of a boiler convection heat transfer portion which is made of a contact superheater 9, the remaining portion evaporator 3 and a fuel supply device 12 supplies an oxygen reducing fuel in front of the fuel catalyst portion 11.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a deodorization by combustion of an exhaust gas containing organic silicon inexpensively without clogging a heat storage body and a heat exchanger by a method wherein the organic silicon in the exhaust gas is removed by adsorption and then, the exhaust gas is heated up to a specified temperature to perform a deodorization by combustion. SOLUTION: After the removal of foreign matters with a filter 11, an exhaust gas (20 deg.C) containing organic silicon, toluene and the like is supplied to a pretreating agent 14 comprising a porous adsorbent mainly composed of an activated charcoal by a blower 12 to let the pretreating agent 14 adsorb and remove the organic silicon while the organic silicon passes through the pretreating agent 14. Thereafter, with a combustion deodorizing apparatus during the normal operation the exhaust gas undergoes a heat exchange with a treating gas by a heat exchanger 13 for preheating to be preheated up to about 190 deg.C and reaches a platinum catalyst 16. As the temperature of the exhaust gas is already raised to 190 deg.C necessary for oxidizing reaction with the platinum catalyst 16, combustible components such as organic solvent in the exhaust gas is burned with the action of the platinum catalyst to make a treating gas of about 350 deg.C. The treating gas thus obtained is subjected to a heat exchange with the exhaust gas by the heat exchanger 13 for pretreating and then, discharged from a stack 17.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a running cost and restrict the generation of CO2 by performing a cleaning treatment for purifying an untreated exhaust gas while minimizing the aging of a catalyst to prolong the changing cycle of the catalyst along with further saving of heat consumption. SOLUTION: When an untreated exhaust gas heated up to a specified temperature in a heating zone (Z1 ) passes through a reaction zone (Z2 ), a harmful malodorous component contained in the exhaust gas is treated to be purified by oxidation combustion or thermal decomposition with the existence of a catalyst 4. When the treated exhaust gas is discharged outside, the concentration of hydrogencarbon is detected by a gas sensor 5 and when the concentration is lower than a preset cleaning reference concentration, the heating value of a heater 3 is reduced within a range no higher than the cleaning reference concentration. When the concentration becomes higher than the cleaning reference concentration, the heating value of the heater 3 is increased until the concentration falls below the cleaning reference concentration. This enables cleaning treatment at a temperature the lowest possible of satisfying the cleaning reference concentration to reduce the temperature load on the catalyst thereby minimizing permanent aging attributed to the temperature.

Thus, at least the surface of the alumina layer is covered with a film of SiO2 to obtain a carrier and then, a catalyst is supported on the surface of the film of SiO2 .

SOLUTION: A deodorizing device is provided with a combustion chamber 2, in which exhaust gas, generated in the combustion of gas, is mixed into air, taken from the outside of the instrument, a fan 3 for sending and supplying the mixed warm-air to the outside of the instrument, a deodorizing catalyst 10, provided in a duct after mixing the exhaust gas in the combustion chamber 2 into air and decomposing the adsorbed smell by heating to reproduce it, a temperature detector 6, an operation switch 7 and a control means 14. Upon starting combustion, the fan 3 is turned at a low speed until the temperature of the temperature detector 6 becomes a predetermined temperature and the deodorizing catalyst 10, into which smell is adsorbed, is heated quickly to a predetermined temperature to increase the capacity of oxidization and decomposition of the deodorizing catalyst 10, oxidizing and decomposing the smell at a temperature higher than the predetermined temperature, and reduce the smell, discharged at a temperature lower than the predetermined temperature in a stage on the half way of the oxidizing decomposition.

Therefore, when treated waste gas is discharged from the waste gas treating chambers Ha, Hb, Hc, the catalyst 14 is heated to catalyst combustion temperature, and then tar stuck on the catalyst 14 is subjected to oxidizing combustion or heat decomposition and is surely removed. And by heat of reaction at that time, the vaporization of tar stuck on the circumference thereof is accelerated to surely remove tar in a short time.
