    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for polymerizing a propylene-based random copolymer, capable of stably carrying out an operation for a long period of time without attaching a polymer to the wall surface of a reactor in producing a low-melting propylene-based random copolymer. SOLUTION: This method for producing a propylene-based random copolymer is characterized in that in a method for producing a propylene-based random copolymer by copolymerizing propylene with an α-olefin in the presence of a metallocene-based catalyst using a polymerizer having a temperature-control jacket, the operation is performed in a state in which the level of a vapor-liquid interface during stirring is kept at the upper edge of the temperature-control jacket or lower than it.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α-olefin polymer capable of achieving a decrease in slurry pump performance degradation, inhibiting cavitation in the pump, preventing reduction in pump transportation capacity, or the like. SOLUTION: The method for producing an α-olefin polymer, wherein a polymerization tank is used for the slurry polymerization on bulk polymerization of an α-olefin in the presence of a stereospecific catalyst and wherein the heat of polymerization is removed by the user of latent heat of vaporization resulting from the evaporation of an evaporating substance, is characterized, during the process of drawing slurry out of the polymerization tank by the use of a slurry pump, in that the vaporization linear velocity (UG) of the evaporation substance in the tank by the superficial velocity base is 1.0-4.0 cm/sec, that the content of air cells in the evaporating substance at the suction port of the pump is not more than 25 vol.%, and that the pump is operated at an agitating revolution number not less than 0.80 times the minimum agitating revolution number that keeps constant the ratio of the upper level concentration of solid particles to the lower level concentration of the same in the slurry in the tank.
