Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of surely circulating engine oil in an oil passage on the inside of an engine in a simple structure and surely obtaining a cooling effect with engine oil. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine is equipped with a cylinder, a piston 1, connecting rod 2, a crank shaft, and a piston pin 4. The oil passage 8 for circulating the engine oil in the inside of the piston 1 is installed, the piston pin 4 is fixed to the connecting rod 2, an oil supply passage 9 passing through the piston pin 4 from the lower surface of the piston 1 and reaching the oil passage 8 when the piston 1 locates in the specified position is installed, an injection nozzle for ejecting oil toward the oil supply passage 9 when the piston locates in the specified position is installed in the lower part of the cylinder, and the oil supply passage 9 is opened or closed in response to the reciprocating motion of the piston 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude the necessity for additionally machining a cylinder block by inserting part of a gasket inserted between the cylinder block and a cylinder head into a water jacket. SOLUTION: A gasket 11 is inserted between a cylinder block 1 and a cylinder head. A contraction section 12 is inserted into a water jacket 3 to separate the water jacket 3 into an upper section and a lower section. Since the contraction section 12 is a separate member from the cylinder block 1, the cylindricity of a cylinder bore 2 can be kept at a proper value even at the time of the thermal expansion of the cylinder block 1. The contraction section 12 is part of the gasket 11, and the contraction section 12 can be positioned against the cylinder block 1, thus the necessity for additionally machining the cylinder block 1 to position the contraction section 12 can be excluded, thereby the strength and durability of the gasket 11 can be improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a cylinder head with a changing device for valve spring load of engine valve system. SOLUTION: A first oil case 41 and a second oil case 42 are fixed to a cylinder head 1. A first piston 44 and a second piston 45 are liquid tightly housed between the first oil case 41 and the second oil case 42 so as to freely slide. A hydraulic chamber 46 is provided between the first piston 44 and the second piston 45. The lower end of a valve drifter 15 abuts against the upper surface of the first piston 44 and a valve spring 50 is provided between the second piston 45 and the valve drifter 15. After hydraulic oil is supplied to the hydraulic chamber 46 through an oil passage 7 and an oil hole 41e, the hydraulic chamber 46 is closed and an inlet valve 10 is opened or closed by a cam 31. Then, when the valve drifter 15 is lowered, the second piston 45 is elevated against the valve spring 50, so that using load is more increased than that when the hydraulic chamber 46 is opened.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance of the nozzle hole part of an internal combustion engine provided with an auxiliary chamber without using a material of high heat resistance, which is expensive, or which is difficult to machine. CONSTITUTION:A cooling system is arranged so that the cylinder wall 2a of the surroundings of a main combustion chamber consisting of a part of a cylinder head 1 or a cylinder block 2 is cooled well, and the nozzle hole 8 of an auxiliary chamber is provided on the cooling system, while the main body part of the auxiliary chamber is formed independently from the cylinder head 1 or the cylinder block 2, and is fitted or cast into the cylinder head 1 or the cylinder block 2. The auxiliary chamber is arranged in the center of the combustion chamber, while an inlet mask wall is provided along the opening part in the bore center of an inlet valve, and most of the inlet air flows downward along the cylinder wall 2a and little air flows in the bore center side.

A seal ring 19 is inserted in space between an inner circumferential part of the ring groove 18 along an outer circumferential edge of the joined surface 17, and then a liquid gasket 20 is filled up in an outer circumferential part of the groove 18 around the seal ring 19.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain good loop scavenging by forming mask wall extending toward a combustion chamber from the internal wall surface of a cylinder head, between intake and exhaust valves, and allowing an opening port between the periphery of the intake valve at the exhaust valve 7 side and the valve seat to close during the period of full opening of the intake valve by these mask walls. CONSTITUTION:A projected part 5 is formed toward a combustion chamber 4 on the internal wall surface 3a of a cylinder head 3 while it is extended along the entire diameter line on the internal wall surface 3a of the cylinder head 3. The projected part 5 is formed in triangular section with a ridge 5a on the bottom thereof, and a pair of intake valves 6 are positioned at one side of the projected part 5 and a pair of exhaust valves 7 are positioned at the other side thereof. A mask wall 10 is formed for each intake valve 6 to cover the opening port between the periphery of the intake valve 6 positioned at the exhaust valve 7 side and a valve seat 9. The opening ports can be closed, by these mask walls 10, during the period of full opening of the intake valve 6, and thus good loop scavenging can be maintained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To completely close a part of a valve opening by forming an air supply valve seat or an exhaust valve seat in addition to a mask-wall by means of a padding layer deposited on a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:An air supply valve seat 9 and a mask-wall 10 are formed from a padding layer, which is deposited on a cylinder head 3 and is then ma chined, as an integrated body with the cylinder head 3. In addition, both nearly all the surfaces of a raised part 5 and a cylinder-head-inwall-surface part 3d around an ignition plug 8 are also formed as an integrated body from a padding layer, together with the air supply valve seat 9 and the mask-wall 10. Thus, a void between the mask-wall 10 and a peripheral part of an air supply valve 6 can substantially be deprived of. Accordingly, when the air supply valve 6 is opened, an opening which is formed between the valve seat 9 and the periph eral part of the air supply valve, which is situated on the exhaust valve (7) side, is completely closed by the mask-wall 10. Thus, flowing of fresh air into the cylinder through the opening which is formed between the valve seat 9 and the peripheral part of the air supply valve 6 is completely prevented by the mask-wall 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To accomplish improved ignition by providing a mask wall between the suction valve and the exhaust valve on the inner wall of a cylinder head and forming a swell which causes a combustion chamber space to vanish at proper timing at the suction valve side of a cylinder head inner wall or on the top of the piston. CONSTITUTION:A suction valve 6 is installed on an inner wall portion 3b that is against a bottom wall surface of a groove 5 formed in a cylinder head inner wall 3a. An exhaust valve 7 is installed on a flat inner wall portion 3c not including the groove 5. The inner wall portions 3b, 3c connect to each other via a peripheral wall 9 of the groove 9. The peripheral wall 9 is made up of mask walls 9a that extend in a semicircle along the edges of the suction valve 6, and fresh air guide walls 9b, 9c which are located between the suction valves 6 and between the peripheral wall of the inner wall 3a and each of the suction valves 6, respectively. In addition, the circumferential area of the inner wall portion 3b at suction valve side is provided with a smell 15 that protrudes towards the top of a piston 2 to cause a combustion chamber space at suction valve side to vanish when the piston 2 has reached its top dead point.
