Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the output of an engine from being fluctuated due to secondary fuel injection while an EGR is being performed. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas passage 2 of an engine 1 is connected with the intake air passage of the engine 1 by an EGR passage 43, so that an EGR is thereby performed by means of an EGR valve 41. Secondary fuel injection is made by cylinder fuel injection valves 111 through 114 for cylinder expansion or an exhaust process at the time when NOx is emitted out of NOx storage reduction catalyst 7 provided for an engine common exhaust passage 2, so that exhaust gas flowing through catalyst 7 is thereby made rich. An ECU 30 prevents unburned fuel fed by secondary fuel injection from being circulated together with EGR gas to each engine combustion chamber by limiting the execution of an EGR when secondary fuel injection is made. By this constitution, excessive fuel is prevented from being fed to each engine combustion chamber, and engine combustion is thereby prevented from being unstable, and output torque is also prevented from being fluctuated at the time when secondary fuel injection is made.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform gentle combustion generating less NOx by determining whether a gas temperature inside a combustion chamber in a compression stroke terminal stage is within a target-temperature range causing self-firing by ignition, or not and controlling the gas temperature inside the combustion chamber within the target temperature range on the basis of the determination result. SOLUTION: During a medium load operation, when a gas temperature inside a combustion chamber 4 ranges from 800 deg.K to 1000 deg.K in an ignition time in a compression stroke terminal stage, self-firing combustion is caused by ignition. In a high load operation area, the gas temperature can be controlled within the range of 800-1000 deg.K, even if a compression ratio is increased to such an extent that the gas temperature inside the combustion chamber 4 does not exceed a lower limit temperature T1, so that self-firing combustion can be caused by ignition. Then, it is determined whether a gas temperature inside the combustion chamber 4 reaches the temperature allowing self-firing based on ignition or not, and on the basis of the determined result, valve opening timing of an intake valve 5 is controlled by means of a valve timing device 6, so that the gas temperature inside the combustion chamber 4 can be kept at a temperature at which self-firing is caused by ignition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the fluctuation of rotating angular velocity by an inner cylinder by fitting an outer cylinder made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic with higher flexural rigidity than the inner cylinder, rotatably onto the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder for power transmission made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. SOLUTION: An inner cylinder 1 and an outer cylinder 2 are formed of thin-walled hollow cylindrical bodies, and the outer cylinder 2 is rotatably fitted onto the inner cylinder 1. A lubricant such as grease is filled between the inner cylinder 1 and outer cylinder 2 so as to facilitate relative rotation of the outer cylinder 2 to the inner cylinder 1. The inner cylinder 1 is so formed as to have low torsional rigidity, and the outer cylinder 2 is so formed as to have higher flexural rigidity than the inner cylinder 1. The torsional rigidity of the inner cylinder 1 is therefore low, and the torsional motion of the inner cylinder 1 is not constrained by the outer cylinder 2, so that the inner cylinder 1 can be put in free torsional motion. As a result, the fluctuation of rotating angular velocity of an input shaft 3 is absorbed by the inner cylinder 1, so that the rotating angular velocity of the outer cylinder 2 is hardly fluctuated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately obtain a necessary amount of fuel injection within a limited fuel injection period by providing an orifice in the upstream of a quantity governing part in a valve housing and an electromagnetic open/close valve in a bypass passage bypassing this orifice. CONSTITUTION:This fuel injection valve 116, provided in a cylinder head 102 of a two-cycle internal combustion engine provided with intake and exhaust valves, has a needle 5 provided with an external open valve 3 at an end part. The other end part of the needle 5 is brought into contact with a magnetic material-made moving core 9 pressed downward by a spring 11. A solenoid 15, containing a coil 10, is provided in the periphery of this core 9. Here a pipe 20, provided with an orifice 21 halfway, is inserted to a connector 13 for constituting partly the solenoid 15. A bypass passage, which bypasses this orifice 21 to pass through a solenoid valve 32 via a connect 24 and a bolt 44 from a passage 46 so as to communicate with a housing part 49 of the valve via a passage 28 or the like, is provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make strong loop scavenging of a two-cycle internal combustion engine, in which mask walls are formed between a pair of air supply valves and a pair of exhaust valves, by allowing the mask wall to block the opening between a valve seat and the air supply valve perimeters on the exhaust valve side over the whole period of opening of the air supply valve. CONSTITUTION:A triangularly profiled bulge 5 is provided, which protrudes toward a combustion chamber above the inner wall surface 3a of a cylinder head 3 and stretches over the whole diameter of the inner wall 3a of the cylinder head 3. A pair of supply valves 6 and a pair of exhaust valves 7 are arranged on both sides of this bulge 5. On this bulge 5, mask walls 10 in the form of circular arc stretching along the peripheries of the supply valves 6 are formed so as to block openings A between the valve seat 9 and each valve 6 perimeter on the exhaust valve 7 side. Therein each mask wall 10 is stretching toward the combustion chamber 4 below that supply valve 6 which is situated in the max. lift position. Thereby the openings A are blocked by respective mask walls 10 over the whole opening time of the supply valves 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure both satisfactory ignition with combustion accompanied and high output power while the blowby of fuel is being prevented by providing both a fuel injection valve which ignites fuel after an intake valve, an exhaust valve and a scavenge port have been closed respectively, and a scavenge control valve opening at the time of high load respectively. CONSTITUTION:A two cycle internal combustion engine includes an intake valve 6 and an exhaust valve 8, and is concurrently formed with a scavenge port 10 driven in such a way as to be opened/closed in the inner wall surface 11 of a cylinder 3 by a piston 2. And the scavenge port 10 together with an intake port 7 is connected with a mechanical super charger 13 via a throttle valve 12. In this case, a scavenge control valve 15 which is controlled to be opened/closed by an actuator 14 is arranged within the scavenge port 10. In addition, a fuel injection valve 16 is arranged in the inner wall surface 11 of a cylinder head at the opposite side of an ignition plug 5 with respect to the intake valve 6. This constitution allows both satisfactory ignition with combustion accompanied at the time of low load and high output power at the time of high load to be secured respectively while the blowby of fuel is being prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent any blow-by of fuel from occurring as well as to secure good loop scavenging by installing a mask wall for covering an opening being formed between an intake valve and its valve seat, while spraying the fuel in the orthogonal direction with a line connecting the intake valve to an exhaust valve. CONSTITUTION:A concave groove 5 is formed in an inner wall surface 3a of a cylinder head 3, thereby forming a part 3b constituting a bottom wall surface of this concave groove 5 and a part 3c protruding toward a combustion chamber 4 from this part 3b. Then, these parts 3b and 3c are connected to each other via a peripheral wall 8 of the concave groove 5, while an intake valve 6 and an exhaust valve 7 are set up each at both sides of the concave groove 5. In addition, the peripheral wall 8 is made up of a mask wall 8a or the like extending in circular form along a peripheral edge of this intake valve 6. Moreover, a pair of fuel injection valves 13, 14 are set up in an inlet port 10, while fuel is sprayed from these fuel injection valves 13, 14 in the orthogonal direction with a line connecting the intake valve 6 to the exhaust valve 7 at a nearer side to this intake valve.
