摘要: PURPOSE: To obtain a pitch composition with improved miscibility with another compounding material without deteriorating characteristics of modified petroleum pitch, by solidifying and granulating a molten mixt. consisting of petroleum pitch obtd. by the heat treatment of asphalt and petroleum asphalt.
CONSTITUTION: A molten mixt. consisting of 1pt. wt. petroleum pitch of softening temp. 160W220°C obtd. by the heat treatment of asphalt and 1/4W4pts.wt. petroleum asphalt of softening temp. 30W80°C is solidified and granulated. The petroleum pitch obtd. by the heat treatment of the asphalt is one thermally modified by blowing superheated steam at about 600W700°C into a vacuum residue obtd. in a petroleum refining process, one modified by heating to 400W500°C without use of steam, etc. The petroleum asphalt is straight asphalt which is a residue from atmospheric or vacuum distillation of petroleum, a propane-deasphalted asphalt obtd. by deasphalting said residue by propane extraction, etc.

摘要: PURPOSE:A coke powder of a small thermal expansion coefficient and a specific particle sizes is combined with pitch under specific conditions and dispersed, thus producing a binder that gives carbonaceous materials with a high bulk density, flexural strength and small thermal expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:A coke powder with a thermal expansion coefficient of less than 2.0X10 / deg.C and single particle size of 5-50mu is added to pitch in an amount of 10-20%. Then, they are heated at 150-200 deg.C, e.g., 160-180 deg.C for 3hr under stirring to disperse it uniformly, thus giving the objective binder. The binder is kneaded with a filler, formed, sintered to be graphitized, thus producing a carbonaceous material. EFFECT:This process gives uniformly structured carbonaceous materials free from pinholes and cracks.

摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain coke for blast furnace having a sufficient strength without using strongly coking coal as a raw material, by incorporating coal having specific properties which is subjected to hydrogenolysis and purified with a solvent, without deashing, into compounded coal. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 parts by wt. of compounded coal having an average reflectance Ro =35 of the formula I: (A is the quinoline-insoluble content of a 1:1 mixture of Australian weakly coking coal and the coal purified with the solvent after heat-treatment; B is the insoluble content before the heat- treatment), and a fluidity index >=8 of the formula II: (M is the Giesler max. fluidity of 9:1 mixture; N is the max. fluidity of the weakly coking coal alone). The coal (B) is obtained by subjecting coal to hydrogenolysis in the presence of a solvent without deashing. The mixed coal is then coked in a coke oven.
