PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display that generates light reflection of a substantially neutral color when a liquid crystal of the display is in a bright state.SOLUTION: A display sheet 10 comprises a substrate 15 carrying layers of materials including: a polymer-dispersed cholesteric liquid crystal layer 30 having a first high reflection state within a visible light spectrum and a second less reflective state within the visible light spectrum, where the reflection states are changeable by an electric field between the two states which can be maintained in the absence of an electric field; a first transparent conductor 20 disposed over the liquid crystal layer 30; a complementary light-absorbing layer 35 below the liquid crystal layer, which has relatively high light absorption within the spectrum of the high reflection state of the liquid crystal layer and has relatively less light absorption in the spectrum complementary to that of the high reflection state of the liquid crystal layer; and a reflective second conductor 40 under the complementary light-absorbing layer, which reflects light received from the complementary light-absorbing layer back through the complementary light-absorbing layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inertial sensor and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The inertial sensor measures the acceleration and angular acceleration of a moving object according to the sensed pressure difference (pressure gradient). The inertial sensor includes a substrate; a circuit disposed on the substrate; a pressure device comprising an annular chamber that has a first end and a second end; a channel having a first end and a second end, with the second end being connected to the second end of the annular chamber; a pressure meter connected to the first end of the annular chamber and the first end of the channel respectively and also connected electrically to the circuit; and a liquid that fills the annular chamber. This constitution provides a highly sensitive planar inertial sensor, which simplifies the structure, makes easy the manufacturing process, and lowers the costs. The inertial sensor based on this constitution can measure the acceleration and angular acceleration of a moving or rotating object, further allowing multi-axis measurements as a result of mutual integrations. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal module system including an LED module, and effectively processing heat generated by the LED module. SOLUTION: In this thermal module system, heat generated by the LED module 10 is transmitted via a heat conductive element 30 to a heat sink module 20 and dissipated. The heat sink module is arranged in a vehicular air passage behind a front bumper, on an inner side of a front fender, or in front of a radiator. A heat insulating material is provided around the LED module to prevent high temperature of an engine compartment from being transmitted to the LED module. The air passage has vents provided on the front bumper and the front fender, so that heat transmission performance of the heat sink module is enhanced by natural or forced air convection. By arranging a fan or water sprayer near the heat sink module, the heat transmission performance can be improved. Therefore, the LED module may work at a low ambient air temperature, whereby the service life thereof is extended. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture system for algae designed to increase the culture area of the algae. SOLUTION: The culture system for the algae is used for circulating and flowing a cultured algal liquid 121 and is equipped with a bottom liquid-receiving culture vessel 110, a culture apparatus 120 and a fluid circulating apparatus 130. The cultured algal liquid 121 is housed in the bottom liquid-receiving culture vessel 110. The culture apparatus 120 is arranged on the upper side of the bottom liquid-receiving culture vessel 110. The cultured algal liquid 121 in the bottom liquid-receiving culture vessel 110 is extracted with the fluid circulating apparatus 130 and the cultured algal liquid 121 is sustainedly introduced into the culture apparatus 120 with the fluid circulating apparatus 130. Thereby, the cultured algal liquid 121 in the culture apparatus 120 is overflown to the bottom liquid-receiving culture vessel 110. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
