PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrrole compound necessary for providing an organic electroluminescent element having high efficiency and an organic electroluminescent element using the same. SOLUTION: The pyrrole compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein R 1 is a group selected from group consisting of an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alicyclic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may be substituted, and an aromatic heterocyclic group which may be substituted; R 2 to R 4 is each a group selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alicyclic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may be substituted, and an aromatic heterocyclic group which may be substituted; L is a group selected from the group consisting of a mono- to hexavalent-group of a substituted or nonsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon and a mono- to hexavalent-group of a substituted or nonsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic compound; n is an integer selected from 1-6; and the valence of L and the number of n are the same).
