    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope that has excellent bending durability.SOLUTION: To provide a wire rope 10 that is used for fixing a wheelchair to a loading position, and is formed by twisting a plurality of strands that are formed by twisting many wires 12 having been subjected to area reduction working. The wire rope 10 has not been subjected to swaging processing, and the area-reducing rate of each of the wires 12 represented by (1-s/a)×100% (where, "a" is the cross-section area of each of the wires 12 before area reduction working; and "s" is the cross-section area after area reduction working) is from 97.5% to 98.5%. The bending durability of the wire rope 10 can be improved by not applying the swaging processing. Setting as mentioned above the area reduction rate of the wire 12 constituting the wire rope 10 suppresses the deterioration of flexibility and tensile strength that are caused by non-application of the swaging processing.
