The composition for the oral cavity is a composition for treating or preventing xerosis in the oral cavity. The composition for the oral cavity is an inflammation inhibitor in the oral cavity. The composition for the oral cavity is a treatment agent or a preventive agent for periodontal disease and the related disorder thereof. The composition for the oral cavity includes glyceryl glucoside of 0.01 to 20 mass%.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vegetable chitosan (highly dispersible vegetable chitosan) having improved dispersability in water, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Highly dispersible vegetable chitosan can be produced efficiently by treating vegetable chitosan with a glycosyltransferase (for example, cyclodextrin glucanotransferase). Enzymatic treatment is, preferably, carried out in the coexistence of a sugar donor. The vegetable chitosan is, preferably, obtained by deacetylating chitin contained in carpophores or mycelia of Basidiomycetes, such as Lentinula edodes, Flammulina velutipes, Agaricus bisporus, Grifola frondosa, Pleurotus eryngii, or Lyophyllum shimeji. PURPOSE: To separate and purify easily and efficiently glycyrrhizin, by bringing an extract solution of a licorice into contact with a synthetic resin adsorbent, weakly adsorbing the glycyrrhizin on the synthetic resin, strengthening the adsorption by treatment with an acid, washing the adsorbed glycyrrhizin with water, and eluting the glycyrrhizin with an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: An extract solution of a licorice containing glycyrrhizin is brought into contact with a medium polar or nonpolar synthetic resin adsorbant having the giant network structure under warming preferably at 50W60°C to adsorb weakly the glycyrrhizin on the synthetic resin adsorbent. The adsorbent is then treated with an inorganic or organic acid to strengthen the adsorption of the glycyrrhizin. The adsorbent is then washed with water to flow out impurities and the acid used in the above-mentioned step. The adsorbed glycyrrhizin is then eluted with a hydrous organic solvent or organic solvent. A styrene-divinylbenzene type polymer having 250W800m 2 /g specific surface area, 40W100Å average pore diameter and 30W55vol% porosity may be cited as the above-mentioned nonpolar adsorbent. The mixture of the above cationized glyceryl glucoside is used as an additive for a skin external preparation. SOLUTION: The hesperetin composition exhibits excellent bioabsorbability of hesperetin as it comprises enzyme-treated hesperidin and hesperetin. The enzyme-treated hesperidin is preferably a mixture of α-glucosylhesperidin with either or both of hesperidin and 7-glucosylhesperetin. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clathrate compound capable of heightening absorbability when being taken orally and improving its bioavailability, by raising the water solubility of hesperetin having a sweetness degree of a hundred or more times that of simple sugar. SOLUTION: The hesperetin is dissolved in an alkaline water solution, and a solution is added to the solution, which is obtained by warming and dissolving β-cyclodextrin and/or branched β-cyclodextrin. Then, the mixture is neutralized by a sulfuric acid solution, microfiltrated, and then freeze-dried, thereby obtaining powder of clathrate. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hesperidin composition in which the characteristic smell of an enzyme-treated hesperidin is remarkably reduced. SOLUTION: This low smelling enzyme-treated hesperidin composition is obtained by allowing cyclodextrin glucanotransferase to act on a hesperidin-containing product extracted from lemon in the presence of a glucose-imparting agent, and further treating the product with one or more of porous synthetic adsorbing resins, ion exchange resins, and carbon. A method for producing the composition and a drink or food, a cosmetic or a medicine containing the composition are disclosed. The hesperidin-containing product is slurry, and it is preferable that the hesperidin-containing product is heated at a temperature of 75 to 100°C for 15 to 60 minutes under the ordinary pressure prior to an enzymatic treatment.
