Four electromagnetic shock absorbers (30) are provided with motors (40FL, 40FR, 40RL, 40RR). First current-carrying terminals (T1) of the motors (40FL, 40FR, 40RL, 40RR) are connected to one another by a ground line (61). Further, second current-carrying terminals (T2) of the motor (40FL) and the motor (40FR) are connected to each other by a front wheel roll damping line (62F). Second current-carrying terminals (T2) of the motor (40RL) and the motor (40RR) are connected to each other by a rear wheel roll damping line (62R). Second current-carrying terminals (T2) of the motor (40FL) and the motor (40RL) are connected to each other by a left wheel pitch damping line (63L). Second current-carrying terminals (T2) of the motor (40FR) and the motor (40RR) are connected to each other by a right wheel pitch damping line (63R). In this manner, appropriate damping forces can be generated with a simple configuration not only against vehicle bouncing but also against vehicle rolling and pitching.

摘要: A damper system includes an electromagnetic damper 10 including: (i) an electromagnetic motor 46 which operates in association with motions of a sprung portion and an unsprung portion toward and away from each other; and (ii) an external circuit 90 which includes (A) a first connection passage CFEB in which an electric current is allowed to only flow from a first terminal 100 as one of two terminals of the motor 46 to a second terminal 102 as the other of the two terminals and (B) a second connection passage DFEA in which the electric current is allowed to only flow from the second terminal 102 to the first terminal 100. The electromagnetic damper 10 is configured to generate a damping force that depends on an electromotive force of the electromagnetic motor 46, with respect to the motion of the sprung portion and the unsprung portion toward each other by permitting a generated current by the motor 46 to flow through the first connection passage CFEB and with respect to the motion of the sprung portion and the unsprung portion away from each other by permitting the generated current of the motor 46 to flow through the second connection passage DFEA. According to the present damper system, damping characteristic with respect to the motion of the sprung portion and the unsprung portion toward each other and damping characteristic with respect to the motion of the sprung portion and the unsprung portion away from each other can be easily made different from each other.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the life of a brush from being deteriorated due to a large spark generated at a brush section when the rotation of a brush motor 40 stops suddenly. SOLUTION: When an electromagnetic shock absorber 30 is extendingly operated, and the stroke speed Vs thereof is larger than a first reference speed Vs1, and the moving direction of a sprung portion is downward, an ECU 50 estimates that the extending operation of the electromagnetic shock absorber 30 stops suddenly, and turns off a second switching element SW2. Consequently, even if the electromagnetic shock absorber 30 stops suddenly, no current flows through the motor 40, thereby preventing the occurrence of the spark at the brush section.
