Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method which ensures suitable welding of the substrate of an electrode plate and a collector plate, and to provide a method of manufacturing a battery and a battery.SOLUTION: When a positive electrode collector plate 110 is welded to a positive electrode non-filled portion P2 of a laminate electrode body 100, top hat type laser is used. Irradiation diameter Φ of the laser is 4-7 times of a target welding width D1. The width of a heat-affected part on the surface side of the positive electrode collector plate 110 in a battery cell 10 produced by this welding is 4-7 times of the welding width on the reverse side of the positive electrode collector plate 110. This is also the case with a negative electrode.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding method which scarcely cause a damage on a separator when welding a collector to an electrode body, and to provide a battery and a separator. SOLUTION: A laminate electrode body 100 laminating a positive electrode plate P and a negative electrode plate N with a separator S interposed therebetween is welded to collector plates 110, 120. A separator S having a sulfonation region V subjected to sulfonation, and a non-sulfonation region X not subjected to sulfonation is used. When the positive electrode collector plate 110 is welded to the laminate electrode body 100, the positive electrode collector plate 110 is welded in a state where the non-sulfonation region X is arranged in a place to which heat is transmitted easily.
