    Abstract: When a vehicle is rear-ended and a seated user moves rearward in reaction to the rear-end collision, a load generated by a rearward movement of a lumbar part of the seated user is sufficiently transmitted from a pressure plate (10a; 20c) of operating force generating means (10) to an operating force generating mechanism (10B), regardless of an amount of rearward tilting of a seat back (3). Then, a pressure roller (10P) serving as a driven member of the operating force generating mechanism (10B) largely deflects and sufficiently pulls inner cables (11B, 11B) of respective pulling cable devices (11, 11), thereby smoothly moving both end portions of a headrest frame (7) upward. As a result, the headrest frame (7) is moved upward smoothly and reliably, and a headrest (4) is moved in an upward-forward direction, that is, toward the head of the seated user smoothly and reliably.

    Abstract: When a vehicle is rear-ended and a seated user moves rearward in reaction to the rear-end collision, a load generated by a rearward movement of a lumbar portion of the seated user is transmitted from a pressure plate (10A) of operating force generating means (10) to an operating force generating mechanism (10B). Then, a pressure roller of the operating force generating mechanism (10B) deflects and pulls inner cables of pulling cable devices (11, 11), thereby moving both end portions of a headrest frame (7) upward. As a result, the headrest frame (7) is moved upward along with headrest supporting brackets (7C, 7C) smoothly and reliably, whereby a headrest (4) attached to the headrest supporting brackets (7C, 7C) with headrest stays (4A, 4A) arranged between the headrest (4) and the respective headrest supporting brackets (7C, 7C) is moved in the upward-forward direction, that is, toward the head of the seated user smoothly and reliably.

    Abstract: A vehicle footrest system is obtained that allows an occupant seated in a rear seat to brace their feet when a footrest section is employed during travel, and that is capable of inhibiting load from concentrating at the heels of an occupant. A footrest system (38) is provided with: a reclining device (40) that rotates an upper end part side of a seatback (22) in the direction of arrow A and holds it at a predetermined angle of rotation; and a slide device (50) that slides a front seat (16) in the direction of arrow B with respect to a vehicle body floor (14). When an occupant (5) seated in a rear seat (18) uses a footrest portion (48) of the seatback (22), the reclining device (40) is operated and the upper end part side of the seatback (22) is inclined toward the vehicle front side. Further, the slide device (50) is operated and a slide portion (54) of a seat cushion (20) is moved in a vehicle front-rear direction along a rail portion (52). In this state, feet (5A) can be placed at the footrest portion (48).

SOLUTION: A boomerang-shaped restraint member 48 having an interference part 48A and a push-up part 48B is arranged rockingly around a spindle 50 below a front part of a seat cushion frame 38. The interference part 48A of the restraint member 48 is abutted on a back side of an inclined surface 44A of a seat pan 42 by the urging force. When a vehicle is collided, a lower portion 60B of a waist of an occupant is inertially moved forward of the vehicle, and the seat pan 42 slides forward, the interference part 48A is pressed, the restraint member 48 is rocked around the spindle 50, and the push-up part 48B pushes up a seat cushion to increase its rigidity.
