PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch and a patch preparation which have sufficient cohesive force, show high adhesion to the skin without leaving any adhesive residue on the skin at peeling, give little irritation to the skin, give soft pasting feeling and, when a drug etc. are incorporated, are capable of suppressing denaturation etc. thereof. SOLUTION: A composition containing an acrylic copolymer is used as a composition for forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer in the patch etc. The acrylic copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer component containing (a) at least one monomer of alkyl (meth)acrylate and (b) at least one monomer of N-hydroxyalkyl ester (meth)acrylamide, provided that the monomer component is substantially free of a monomer having a carboxyl group. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical adhesive composition which achieves excellent cohesion.SOLUTION: The medical adhesive composition includes an acrylic copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing (a) an alkyl (meth)acrylate and (b) an N-hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylamide. The monomer mixture contains the N-hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylamide (b) of 8 wt.%-25 wt.%. Weight-average molecular weight of the acrylic copolymer measured by a multiangle light scattering method is 1.0×10-1.0×10.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical pressure-sensitive adhesive composition that, if a medically active ingredient such as a drug is contained, suppresses denaturation etc. caused by its reaction with such the ingredient, has no risk of deteriorating effectiveness of the ingredient and, when used for forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of a medical patch or a patch preparation, exerts high fixability onto skin surface and imparts excellent fixability to a medical tool such as a catheter.
