    摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain required image density, and to suppress nonuniform image density corresponding to the recessed and projecting pattern of the surface of a sheet which is caused when a rough sheet is used as a recording sheet. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer belt 21; a conductive secondary transfer roller 26 forming a secondary transfer nip by abutting on the intermediate transfer belt 21; and a constant current control section that controls a voltage outputted from a power source which is a source for outputting a secondary transfer current, so that the secondary transfer current flowing between the belt and roller is stabilized at a predetermined control target value. In this configuration, a resistance detecting means is provided for detecting the electric resistance of a recording sheet. In addition, the constant current control means is configured so that if the detection result of the resistance detecting means exceeds a predetermined threshold, the control target value is corrected based on the detection result and the proportion of the area of a toner image.
