Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam irradiation nozzle which stabilizes its position with high accuracy and locally keeps a stable gas-sealed state without scattering a laser beam which may cause danger according to its output power. SOLUTION: The laser beam irradiation nozzle (1) includes an inverse conical housing (12) where the laser beam to be narrowed down toward its own focus is enclosed, and a blocking ring (11) which is attached so as to be freely taken out of and put in the tip of the inverse conical housing (12). The inverse conical housing (12) is provided with an exhaust hole (122) through which the blocking gas is sucked accompanying with welding fume gas in the vicinity of the blocking ring (11) and a jetting hole (121) through which the blocking gas is jetted in the upper part and each communication passage (123) which is respectively communicated with these jetting hole and the exhaust hole, is provided on the inner wall surface of the inverse conical housing. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a safe and high-quality laser welding method that enables short-time and efficient multi-point welding to be performed by a simple and conventional device as a countermeasure for the disadvantage of laser welding because of low welding strength per spot welding point. SOLUTION: In the laser spot welding method, a laser light emission nozzle (1) is pressed to a workpiece (W) of two overlapped metallic material plates, and a blocking gas chamber (7) is formed. An oscillating plate (15) is operated by the rotation of an eccentric shaft (16) and a laser light emission unit (14) is rotated and oscillated, and after a plurality of welding nuggets are formed like an arc, a blocking gas, a melting gas and fume are discharged. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a welding method, in which a laser beam which is thin in the diameter and extremely high in the directivity is positioned stably with high accuracy and a fusion zone and its periphery are maintained in gas shielding state during welding. SOLUTION: In a laser beam irradiating nozzle (1) for welding provided with a contacting/blocking member (11) at the tip, by pressing that contacting/blocking member against the surface of a superposed metallic material (6), a blocked gas chamber (7) is formed in the inside and blocking gas is injected and filled in this blocked gas chamber (7). When the pressure of the blocked gas reaches a prescribed value or higher, the laser beam is emitted through the blocked gas chamber (7) from the laser beam irradiating nozzle. The welding is performed by emitting the laser beam directing downward through the blocked gas chamber (7) at a weld point to be welded on the surface of the metallic material (6).
