摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active β-amino acid and its precursor in high yield.
SOLUTION: The method for producing an optically active β-amino acid expressed by general formula (I) (e.g. 3-(benzylamino)-3-phenylpropanoic acid tert-butyl ester) contains a step to react a compound expressed by general formula (II) (e.g. tert-butyl cinnamate) with a lithium amide expressed by general formula (III) (e.g. N-benzyltrimethylsilyl lithium amide) in the presence of a compound expressed by general formula (IV) (e.g. (1R, 2R)-1,2-dimethoxy-1,2-diphenylethane).
