    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a device for moving a minute object as desired from being increased in electric power consumption and physical size. SOLUTION: When an alternating voltage of a specific waveform is applied to a couple of electrodes 3a and 3b, a minute object 5 moves in a plane almost parallel with substrates 1a and 1b in a region C1 between a couple of electrodes 3a, 3b. The device is simplified and miniaturized compared with a conventional device which moves such a minute object by using laser light. Moreover, since the movement of the minute object 5 is carried out in the region C1 as mentioned above, the transducing efficiency of the consumed electric energy into kinetic energy is improved, and the power consumption can be decreased.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink, which has high ability of color development on ordinary paper, is excellent in fixing property and has a reduced degree of ink blotting, by adding a compound capable of forming aggregates of molecules through self-organization. SOLUTION: A preferred compound capable of forming aggregates of molecules through self-organization is the one which has a site capable of forming a hydrogen bond and/or a hydrophobic bond. The site capable of forming the hydrogen bond includes NHCO and/or OH, and the site capable of forming the hydrophobic bond includes a linear alkyl group. Concretely, compounds of formula I to IV are cited. In the formulas, G1 to G3 represent each independently a sugar residue; R1, R2 and R4 represent each independently 2-18C saturated alkyl; and S1 represents a residue of a siloxane compound and is preferably a residue of formula V (wherein R3 represents a 1-8C organic group and (n) is 1 to 15).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and simultaneously erasing a large number of bits recorded in the recording medium, to which an electric memory effect is applied, without requiring high controllability. SOLUTION: The recording medium is constituted by laminating a recording layer 603 consisting of a monomolecular film of an organic compound and having the electric memory effect on a substrate electrode 6 disposed opposite to a probe electrode and a photoconductive thin film 604 consisting of a monomolecular film of an organic compound on the recording layer 603. Then, at the time of erasure, conductivity of a desired area of the photoconductive thin film 604 is enhanced by irradiation of light, and an erasing voltage is impressed upon only this area of the recording layer 603 to simultaneously erase recorded bits in this area.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize accurate bit recognition without performing complicated threshold control and interval control for individual probe even when intervals between a probe tip and a recording surface are different and without changing a threshold at the time of a binarization processing. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a hundred pieces of probes 1 having electrical conductivity, and individual probe 1 is fixed to the free end of a cantilever 2, and individual cantilever 2 is arranged two-dimensionally on the support body 3 of the cantilever and fixed. The probe 1, the cantilever 2 and the support body 3 of the cantilever are formed by using a micromechanics technique and a microelectronics technique. A recording medium 4 is constituted of a recording layer 5, an electrode 6 and a substrate 7, and a quartz glass substrate, for instance, is used for the substrate 7. The electrode 6 is formed out of an Au film of 1000Å thickness by a vacuum-deposition method on the substrate 7, and the recording layer 5 is formed by laminating two layers of monomolecular film of squalelum-bis-6-octylazulene(SOAZ) on the electrode 6.
