摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound by reacting a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having COOH with glycidol while blowing O2, air or an O2- or air-containing inert gas into the liquid phase and simultaneously blowing an inert gas into the vapor phase. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable unsaturated monomer having carboxyl group is reacted with glycidol. In the process, the reaction is carried out while blowing oxygen, air or an oxygen- or air-containing inert gas into the liquid phase and simultaneously blowing an inert gas into the vapor phase in the reaction and purification steps to afford an unsaturated monomer glycidol ester. Polymerizable functional groups can be prevented from polymerizing by carrying out the above-mentioned method and the reaction and purification steps are advantageously performed. Thereby, the resultant ester is useful as photosensitive resins, anti-fogging coatings, water-based coatings, UV.EB curable coatings, contact lenses, etc., without initiating polymerization of the raw material and product.

摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound good in hue by washing a stainless steel reactor with an organic acid or aqueous solution thereof before carrying out reaction and then reacting a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having carboxyl group with glycidol. CONSTITUTION:A reactor made of stainless steel is washed with an organic acid or aqueous solution thereof before carrying out reaction or, as necessary, while heating the reactor and a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having carboxyl group is then reacted with glycidol to afford glycerol ester of a mono- unsaturated monomer. Even if the stainless steel reactor is used, polymerization hardly occurs in production by using the aforementioned method and products good in hue are further obtained. The resultant ester is useful as a monomer for photosensitive resins, anti-fogging coatings, water-based coatings, ultraviolet.electron beam(UV.EB) curing coatings, contact lenses, etc.

摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain a copolymer useful as an oligomer excellent in curability, adhesiveness, adhesion to metal and pigment dispersion by mixing an alkyl vinyl ether with two specified maleic acid monoesters. CONSTITUTION:The title copolymer comprises an alkyl vinyl ether of formula I (wherein R is 1-10C linear, branched or alicyclic alkyl), a maleic acid monoester of formula II (wherein R is H or CH3; R and R are each a 1-10C linear, branched or alicyclic alkylene group; k is 0-100; l is 1-100) and a maleic acid monoester of formula III [wherein R is a 1-10C linear, branched or alicyclic alkylene or alkyl; R is (substituted) phenyl; m is 0-50; n is 0 or 1; and at least either of m and n is not 0]. By using this copolymer, it is possible to obtain a copolymer which can be used as an oligomer excellent in various properties such as curability, adhesiveness, adhesion to metal and pigment dispersion.

The glycidol solution of the catalyst is preferably cooled to a low temperature to an extent not to cause the precipitation of the catalyst. The glycidol solution of the catalyst is preferably diluted by using methyl methacrylate as the dilution solvent to prevent the lowering of the glycidol concentration.

摘要: PURPOSE:To readily obtain methacrylic esters by initially blending a mixed alcohol composed of ethyl alcohol and butyl alcohol with methyl methacrylate, subsequently carrying out separation based on the boiling points and independently carrying out ester interchange of the respective separated solutions. CONSTITUTION:A mixed alcohol composed of ethyl alcohol and butyl alcohol is initially blended with methyl methacrylate and the resultant mixture is subjected to rectification under the ordinal or reduced pressure to be separated into a mixture solution of ethanol and methyl methacrylate and the other mixture solution of n-butyl alcohol and methyl methacrylate. The above-mentioned separated solutions are independently subjected to ester interchange in the presence of an ester interchange catalyst and a polymerization inhibitor at 50-100 deg.C for 3-20hrs. under the ordinary or reduced pressure to obtain the objective methacrylates such as ethyl methacrylate or butyl methacrylate useful for pigments, textile treatments, adhesions and molding materials in a form of a monomer or a polymer thereof.

CONSTITUTION:For example, maleic anhydride or its solution and a dialkyl carbonate (e.g. diethyl carbonate or dimethyl carbonate) as a solvent are charged in a reactor so that the content of the produced copolymer is 5-30wt.% in the reaction solution after the copolymerization, and further a radical polymerization initiator (e.g. benzoyl peroxide) and an alkylvinyl ether (e.g. methylvinyl ether) are continuously or intermittently charged in the reactor, followed by subjecting the monomers to a precipitation polymerization reaction preferably at 40-90 deg.C to obtain the objective copolymer.

摘要: PURPOSE:To readily suppress polymerization to a less extent than that of a single polymerization inhibitor and obtain the subject compound useful as a monomer for polymers by carrying out ester interchange reaction of a lower alcohol with methyl (meth)acrylate using two kinds of polymerization inhibitors. CONSTITUTION:Ester interchange reaction of a lower alcohol expressed by the formula ROH (R is 2-4C alkyl) with methyl (meth)acrylate expressed by formula I (R' is H or CH3) is carried out in the presence of a catalyst, such as sodium methylate, preferably dissolved in a solvent and a polymer polymerization inhibitor using phenothiazine(PTZ) and hydroquinone monomethyl ester (MEHQ) together at 50-100 deg.C for 5-20hr under ordinary or reduced pressure according to reaction distillation in a batch form to afford the objective compound, expressed by formula II and useful as a monomer for (meth)acrylic acid ester resins. The afore-mentioned polymerization inhibitor is preferably used by charging the PTZ into a reactor before starting the reaction and then charging the MEHQ from the column top of a distillation column during the reaction and purification.

摘要: PURPOSE:To purify the subject compound by neutralizing sodium alcoholate in reacting liquid and hydrolyzate of said alcoholate and distilling in ester interchange of methyl (meth)acrylate and lower alcohol in the presence of sodium alcoholate. CONSTITUTION:Methyl (meth)acrylate is reacted with lower alcohol expressed by the formula ROH (R is 2-4C alkyl) at 50-150 deg.C for 5-20 hour using sodium alcoholate as catalyst. In said process, sodium alcoholate as catalyst and sodium hydroxide as hydrolyzate of said alcoholate presenting in reacted crude liquid are neutralized by acid and distilled, then (meth)acrylic acid ester is purified. (Meth)acrylic acid ester is useful as raw material of (meth)acrylic resin used for coating material, finishing and treating agent of fiber or binder, etc.
