Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition comprising a vinylic polymerizable monomer and an unsaturated polyester produced from the mixture of dicyclopentadiene, a multi-basic carboxylic acid, and a multi-functional alcohol, excellent in coatability to wood, atomizability, etc., and useful for coating furnitures, etc. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises (A) an unsaturated polyester obtained from the mixture of (i) dicyclopentadiene and an (alpha-beta-unsaturated multi-basic carboxylic acid, a saturated multi-basic carboxylic acid or its anhydride with (ii) a multi-functional alcohol (preferably the mixture of a bifunctional alcohol with one or more trifunctional alcohols selected from glycerol and trimethylolpropane). The component (i) is preferably e.g. dicyclopentadiene maleic acid produced by reacting dicyclopentadiene with the alpha, beta-unsaturated multi-basic carboxylic acid or its anhydride, e.g. maleic acid (anhydride) or fumaric acid, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a curable resin composition which can give a cured film excellent in scratching and abrasion resistances. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is prepared by adding styrene to a urethane acrylate containing three acryloyl groups and prepared by effecting an addition reaction of tolylene diisocyanate with a polyol of a structure derived by effecting an addition reaction of glycerol with propylene oxide to obtain an isocyanate-terminated product and reacting this product with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and pentaerythritol triacrylate. Cobalt naphthenate and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide are added to the composition, and the resulting mixture is cast and cured.
