PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent metal wear powder generated by sliding movement during electric connection of an electric connection part from being attached to an optical connection part including an alignment structure.SOLUTION: A photoelectric compound connector comprises: a plug 40 having an insertion engagement part 47; and a receptacle 70 having a housing space 78 into which the insertion engagement part 47 is inserted. The receptacle 70 comprises: an optical connection part (optical member 73) having an alignment structure in the back of the housing space 78; and an electric connection part (terminal 72) in front of the optical connection part. A shutter 76 which opens during optical connection with the plug 40 is arranged immediately in front of the optical connection part of the receptacle 70. The optical connection part of the receptacle 70 advances in conjunction with the opening motion of the shutter 76 and retracts in conjunction with the closing motion of the shutter 76.

SOLUTION: The optical connector adapter 3 of such a type that a shell-side hollow cylindrical portion 13 is integrally formed in a shell 12 constituting an outer shell, a sleeve holder 15 inserted in the shell 12 has a holder-side hollow cylindrical portion 16 and a sleeve 14 is held by the shell-side hollow cylindrical portion 13 and the holder-side hollow cylindrical portion 16 is provided. The shell 12 has an inward engaging projection 21 on a portion facing the holder-side hollow cylindrical portion 16 in the inner surface of the shell 12 while the sleeve holder 15 has a holder locking portion 22. By engaging the holder locking portion 22 with the engaging projection 21, the sleeve holder 15 is prevented from being removed from the shell 12. SOLUTION: A stopper 50 is fixed to an optical connector 10, and the optical connector 10 is accommodated in an opening 21 of a housing 20. The housing 20 is engaged with the stopper 50 so as to be displaceable with respect to the stopper 50 by a predetermined amount in a direction of inserting the optical connector 10 to a receptacle, and the stopper 50 is biased rearward by a coil spring 40 with respect to the housing 20. The free end of a clip piece 15 is placed on the free end of a latch piece 14 of the optical connector 10, and the free end of the clip piece 15 is placed on an slope 23a at the front end of a recess 23 formed on an inner wall surface of the opening 21. When detached from the receptacle, the housing 20 is displaced in a direction to be pulled out against the biasing force of the coil spring 40. SOLUTION: The optical connector adapter 10 for use in connecting a first and a second optical connector plug 1, 2 to each other includes a first adapter half 11 and a second adapter half 12 that is butted against the first adapter half 11 in a predetermined direction. The first and second adapter halves have engaging means for engaging with each other in a predetermined direction and maintaining the first and second adapter halves in a butted state. The engaging means is configured to be disposed inside the optical connector adapter and to be prevented from releasing engagement thereof by at least one of the first and second optical connector plugs.
