    SOLUTION: The simple screening method for a compound which inhibits the dimerization of histidinekinase in a two-component signaling system of a bacteria comprises adding a candidate to Escherichia coli transformed by a vector which is a gene transcription regulation system having an iclR promoter and an IclR represser, wherein the homodimer formation domain of the represser is substituted by the homodimer formation domain of histidinekinase, and the promoter has a base sequence having a linked GFP (green fluorescent protein) coding base sequence downstream thereof, culturing the bacteria, and measuring the fluorescent intensity. 1-Dodecyl-2-isopropylimidazole which is an antibacterial agent obtained by screening by the method is also provided.
