Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color sensing system for determining color characteristics of an object. SOLUTION: In this color sensing system, a peripheral receiver optical fiber/element 7 is provided apart from a central light source optical fiber/element 5 to receive and measure the light reflected from surface of the object 20. Light from the peripheral fiber optics 7 passes through various filters. The peripheral receiver optical fiber 7 is used to determine information on height and angle of a probe 1 to the measuring object 20. Under control of a processor, color measurement is performed at the given height and angle. Configurations of various color spectrophotometers are disclosed. Also data on translucence, fluorescence property and/or surface structure can be acquired. Further an operator can be led to use this system by being supplied with audio feedback. The probe 1 also may have either a freely-attachable/detachable or shielded tip for inhibiting contamination. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
