PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide edible products (e.g. foods, medical foods, nutritional supplementary foods, and medicines) or additives which contains pulverized cacao extract, having improved flavor due to the dried extract containing cacao polyphenol (CP) pulverized for reducing particle diameter.SOLUTION: The products, e.g. chocolate, have reduced astringency and reduced bitterness. After pulverization, the average particle diameter is less than about 15 micrometer, preferably less than about 10 micrometer, most preferably less than about 5 micrometer. The pulverized extract has a total CP content of at least about 300 mg, preferably about 300 to about 700 mg per one g of the pulverized extract. The additives substantially comprise: (i) pulverized high CP cacao extract; and (ii) fat(e.g. cacao butter), oil(e.g. vegetable oil), or syrup (e.g. corn syrup).
