摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound sensor that can reduce its height projecting to the outside of a bumper and can be easily positioned with respect to the bumper.SOLUTION: An ultrasound sensor includes: a mount 2 to be fixed to an inner surface of a bumper 1; and a sensor body 3 that is to be inserted to an exposure hole 11 provided in the bumper 1, and that is to be joined to the mount 2 by engagement of a projection and a recess. The sensor body 3 can be moved parallel to the mount 2 so that its projecting height to the outside of the bumper 1 becomes large than that at a position where it is joined by the engagement of the projection and the recess. Compared with a case where the sensor body is fixed to the bumper 1 by pinching the bumper 1 from the outside and inside, its projecting height to the outside of the bumper 1 can be reduced as shown in Fig. 1(b). Inserting the sensor body 3 to the exposure hole 11 in a state where its projecting height from the mount 2 is set large as shown in Fig. 1(a) allows the mount 2 to be relatively easily positioned with respect to the bumper 1.

The body block 3 has a spring part 55 for biasing the insertion part 41 in the direction for extracting it from the exposure hole by coming into elastic contact with the inner surface of the bumper 1. A position of the insertion part 41 is stabilized in the thickness direction of the bumper 1 in comparison with a case when the spring part 55 is not arranged, thereby preventing the degradation of the external appearance due to the projection of a portion of the body block 3 to the outside of the bumper 1.

The holding rubber 5 has a flange 52 covering an opening edge of the exposure hole 11 when viewed from an outer surface side of the bumper 1 (a left side in the drawing). Compared with a case where the opening edge of the exposure hole 11 is exposed, its appearance can be improved, and compared with a case where joining force is produced by pinching the bumper 1 from the outside and inside, a height of the sensor body projecting to the outside of the bumper 1 can be reduced.

The body block 3 includes a cylindrical insertion part 41 which is inserted to a circular exposure hole 11 provided in the bumper 1 with its axis direction oriented to the direction of thickness of the bumper 1. The external peripheral surface of the insertion part 41 is provided with four contacting protrusions 46 having a common dimensional shape for being in contact with the internal peripheral surface of the exposure hole 11. Because the center of the insertion part 41 is more easily matched with the center of the exposure hole 11, seen from the external side of the bumper 1, than in a case that there are no contacting protrusions 46, the appearance can be improved.
