Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable harvest of a large quantity of pharmaceutical substances from sessile marine organisms.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the culture of sessile marine organisms. Sessile marine organisms are the source of a large number of marine pharmaceutical substances. The present invention provides a method for manufacturing such marine pharmaceutical substances. The method involves placing a plurality of substrate-like materials in sea water, growing the organism on the plurality of the substrates, harvesting the grown organism, and subsequently extracting a pharmaceutical substance from the harvested organism.
