PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo-fixing toner and a two-component developer capable of maintaining sufficient fixing property only with a fixing device employing a laser fixing system, showing good color reproducibility and having high flexibility for selecting a toner raw material.SOLUTION: The photo-fixing toner 1 is used in a fixing device that fixes a toner to a recording medium by irradiating the toner with light having a wavelength in an absorption wavelength region of a colorant. The photo-fixing toner 1 comprises toner base particles 2 containing a binder resin and a colorant but no IR absorbent, and a resin coating layer 3 formed on the surfaces of the toner base particles, the resin coating layer 3 containing a coating resin and wax 4 that reflects laser light, in which the wax 4 is dispersed in the layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner by which a release agent and a colorant can be satisfactorily dispersed in a binder resin with an open roll type continuous kneading machine and by which excellent durability and a sufficient anti-offset region can be ensured. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic toner is manufactured as follows; a binder resin comprising, in a molecular weight distribution, a high molecular weight component (having a weight average molecular weight of 100,000-120,000 and a melting point of 120-160°C), a medium molecular weight component (having a weight average molecular weight of 80,000-100,000 and a melting point of 90-100°C) and a low molecular weight component (having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000-20,000 and a melting point of 100-110°C), a release agent which is contained in a starting material mixture in an amount of ≥5 wt.% and is internally added to the binder resin, and a colorant are preliminarily mixed to prepare a starting compound, this starting compound is melted and kneaded with an open roll type continuous kneading machine 1, and the resulting kneaded material is pulverized and classified. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the magenta toner containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, the magenta toner is designed in such a manner that difference in transmittance (T2-T1) is less than 10, wherein T1 (%) is the transmittance at the maximum transmittance wavelength in the shorter wavelength region than 500 nm when the toner is formed into a toner film on a transparent sheet and has the film thickness showing 1% transmittance at the maximum absorption wavelength in a 400 nm to 700 nm wavelength region, and T2 (%) is the transmittance at the maximum transmittance wavelength in the shorter wavelength region than 500 nm when the toner film has the film thickness showing 3% transmittance at the maximum absorption wavelength. Since the magenta toner having the above characteristics has high dispersibility of the component such as the colorant, the obtained toner has high coloring power and saturation, and excellent color reproducibility and realizes a favorable color image.
