    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the extent of braking noise preventing effect in a disk brake system. CONSTITUTION:A pair of pads 20 consisting of a back plate 21 and a frictional material 25 are supported on a mounting 10 locked in close proximity to a part of the circumferential part of a disk rotor 19, and this frictional material is pressed to both sides of this disk rotor by a caliper 15. Each braking torque receiving surface 23 at both ends in the direction of an action line L of braking force to be added to the pads is formed in the back plate, and likewise an anchor surface 13 contacting with each braking torque receiving surface and receiving the braking force being added to the pads is formed in the mounting 10. In this case, at least one of respective braking torque receiving surfaces and anchor surfaces is made a projecting arced surface toward the action line from a position distant from the action line of the braking force, while a reaction receiving surface 22a in contact with the mounting 10 almost parallel with the action line is installed in a part of the back plate 21.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the vibration of a brake pad, and to restrict brake squeak regardless of the level of the oil pressure of the brake by carrying out chamfering or cutting on a friction material part existing inside of a circle having a diameter connecting between the lug part of a trailing side and the rotation center of a disc rotor. CONSTITUTION:A brake pad 4 consists of a friction material 14 and a back plate 15. Lug parts 16, 17 are provided on the end part in the circumferential direction of the disk rotor of the back plate 15. The lug parts 16, 17 are held by a mounting plate 29, while the brake pad 4 is supported with the lug parts 16, 17 and the mounting plate 29 so that the pad can be displaced in the axial direction of rotation of the disc rotor. A part of the friction material 14 is cut. In this example, the inner circumferential side of rotation of the disc rotor is cut with a chord 19 serving as a boundary, which is formed by a virtual circle 18, the diameter of which is a line segment connecting between the lug part 16 in the trailing side and the rotation center O of the disk rotor, and two intersections connected with the outer line of the friction material 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the ventilating and cooling efficiencies of a rotor by providing each disc-shaped sliding plate with a plurality of radially inclined long paritition walls, a plurality of short partition walls located between the long walls, passages communicating between the partition walls, and an inlet and outlet communicating with the passages, the disc-shaped sliding plates being disposed separately along the direction of an axle. CONSTITUTION:An axial flow is converted into a radial flow by the rectangular sloping portion 22S of a long partition wall 22 at an inlet 31 and allowed to flow into a bench hole 4 at an inflow angle of 45 deg. and then flow through the insides of bench holes 41, 42 formed between upper long and short partition walls 22U, 21 and between the short partition wall 21 and a lower long partition wall 22D, respectively, thus restraining the negative pressure face of each partition wall 21, 22 of a fin 2 and reducing a stagnation area 43 to form a broad main flow area 44. The pressure loss of the flow is thus minimized to reduce the rate at which the surface heat transfer rate of cooling wind is reduced, so as to enhance the ventilating and cooling efficiencies of a rotor 1, and also, the total amount of heat radiation can be increased since the effective cooling area is enlarged.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep a pedal ratio at a constant value during ordinary braking, in a pedal ratio varying brake pedal device wherein a pedal ratio is increased with the propress of pedaling of a pedal so as to generate a higher brake force by the same pedaling force during emergency braking. CONSTITUTION:A pedal ratio is increased by pedal ratio varying means 10 and 11 when a pedaling force exerted on a pedal part 2 attains a second given pedaling force which is set to a value higher than a first given pedaling force by means of which an aiding device 5 aids the pedaling force in a specified ratio and to a value higher than a pedaling force in a normal scheduled range.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce generation of brake noise through suppression of the generation of vibration of a brake pad by a method wherein when a brake force is exerted, a rotation force is exerted on the brake pad, and the brake pad is brought into a caliper or the two different spots of a member assembled to the caliper. CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal is stepped on in a state that a vehicle is run forward, back plates 52 and 62 are pulled in a front direction corresponding to the rotation direction of a disc rotor and brought into contact with a torque support part 30c, and brake torque of a wheel is exerted on the support part 30c. In this case, since the back plates 52 and 62 of the brake pad are energized frontward downward through the force of a crossed spring 71, the back plates 52 and 62 are moved in parallel as the downward force of the crossed spring 71 is exerted thereon. Thus, the back plates are pressed against the upper part of the inner peripheral surface of oblong holes 52a and 62a and the outer periphery of a hanger pin 41 and slide resistance is generated between the upper part of the inner peripheral surface thereof and the hanger pin 41. Meanwhile, since a friction force is also generated between the side end faces of the back plates 52 and 62 and the torque support part 30c, the generation of vibration of the back plates 52 and 62 is regulated and the generation of brake noise owing to vibration is reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the air-blasting and cooling efficiency of a rotor by reducing the pressure loss of the flow by increasing the main flow area in a bench hole and to increase the total heat radiating quantity by increasing the cooling area. CONSTITUTION:A brake disc rotor is provided with sliding plates 11, 12 on the inner and the outer sides which are continuously arranged by keeping the space in the axial direction of the axle, a plurality of fins 2 consisting of a pin 21 arranged at the in-flow angle between the sliding plates and a circular bulkhead 22 formed in the radial direction of the disc in an inclined manner, a plurality of openings 31, 32 which are open inwardly and outwardly in the radial direction, a plurality of bench holes 4 which are formed by the adjacent bulkheads 22, and communicating ports 5 which are formed between the pin 21 and the bulkhead 22 and where minor turbulences of the flow collided against the pin 21 are formed. The brake disc rotor consists of a circular part 61 formed at the inner radius part of a sliding plate 11, a direction changing part 62 formed in the radius part of the sliding plate 12, and a plurality of heat- radiating fins 7 formed on the sliding plates 11, 12 and in parallel with the bulkhead 22.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve blowing and cooling efficiencies and increase a thermal discharge amount in a brake disc rotor for a motorcar, by arranging disc-shaped sliding plates oppositely to each other in a shaft direction through partition walls, forming spiral passages between the partition walls and inlet/outlet openings which communicate passages with each other in a diameter direction, and forming adjacent passage communicating openings on the partition walls. CONSTITUTION:Inner and outer sliding plates 11, 12 are arranged separately from each other in a direction of a vehicle shaft with spirally arranged fins 2 sandwiched therebetween. A plurality of openings opened inward and outward in a diameter direction are formed between the sliding plates 11 and 12, and ventilating holes 4 are formed by the sliding plates 11, 12 and the fins 2. Communication ports 5 for communicating the ventilating holes 4 wich each other are formed on the fins 2. An R part 61 is formed on an inner wall end of the inner sliding plate 11, while a directional changing part 62 is formed on an end of the outer sliding plate 12. Among the flow from an inlet opening 31, the flow in the vicinity of the fins 2 is fed to a negative pressure surface on the lower portions of the fins 2 through the communication ports 5, for eliminating stagnation which may be caused by removal of the negative pressure surface.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the contact section of a dust boot with a pad element from being fused and broken by letting a part high in heat resistance provided for the dust boot be brought into contact with the pad element when the dust boot is swelled up toward the pad element. CONSTITUTION:When a dust boot 9 is swelled up toward a shim 8, a dust boot thick wall section 10 high in heat resistance is provided for a part of the dust boot 9, which is brought into contact with a shim 8. When the brake is applied, heat is generated by friction between a disc rotor 5 and a pad 6, the heat is transferred to the shim 8 and a closed section 11, air in the closed section 11 is expanded, the dust boot 9 is then swelled up toward the shim 8 side, and the dust boot thick wall section 10 is brought into contact with the shim 8 high in temperature. Since the dust boot thick wall section 10 is brought into contact with the shim 8, the portion other than the dust boot thick wall section 10 of the dust boot 9 will never be brought into contact with the shim 8. The contact section of the dust boot thick wall section 10 can be prevented from being broken because its heat resistance is high.

The brake disc rotor consists of a round part 61 formed at the inner radius part of a sliding plate 11, a direction changing part 62 formed in the radius part of the sliding plate 12, and a plurality of compact heat- radiating fins 71-74 formed on the outer circumferential part of the inner wall of the sliding plates 11, 12.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a brake from dragging by reducing the sliding resistance of a friction pad. CONSTITUTION:An inner pad 2 and an outer pad 3 are disposed on both sides of a disk rotor 1 which rotates integrally with wheels. The inner pad 2 has ear portions 2a, 2a formed at opposite end portions thereof and is supported slidably in the direction of the axis of the disk rotor 1 by a mounting 4 secured to a vehicle body holddown member on the inner side of the disk rotor 1. The inner pad 2 is pressed at its back toward the disk rotor 1 by a pair of pistons disposed along the direction of rotation of the disk rotor 1. The outer pad 3 is so designed to be pressed toward the disk rotor 1 by a reaction claw 5b1. Thereby the pads slide within a pad clip and in the direction of the axis of the disk rotor without sliding resistance.
