PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media item transport module for receiving media items from one or more picking units (take-up units), and for transporting and providing the media items to customers.SOLUTION: The media item transport module comprises: an upward transport, a divert transport, and a stacking transport. The upward transport extends from a pick coupling area to a diversion area and is operable to route individual media items from the pick coupling area to the diversion area. The divert transport extends from the diversion area to a diverter port. The stacking transport extends from the diversion area to a stacking port. A diverter is located at the diversion area, and is operable to route the media items to either (i) the divert transport, or (ii) the stacking transport, in response to a signal received from a media item thickness sensor.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet post process device with a stapler function adequate for high-speed printing. SOLUTION: The sheet post process device comprises a conveying path for conveying image-formed sheets to a stapler mechanism, a sensor installed on the conveying path for detecting the travel positions of the sheets, and a tray on which the sheets are stacked to be bound. In a conveying path outlet for discharging the sheets from the conveying path to the tray, a rotatable cam is installed which is spirally shaped. When the sheets pass through the conveying path outlet, the cam is rotated to move the sheets to the tray while contacting the sheets. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet stacking device capable of preventing the occurrence of trouble such as sheet jamming and accumulating and stacking paper sheets stably. SOLUTION: In this paper sheet stacking device, a recycle box 130a is provided with a stacking box 137, a carrying-in mechanism (including conveyance guides 131g1, 131g2, conveyance rollers 131r1, 131r2, a feed roller 132, a pinch roller 133, and a gate roller 134) for carrying bills 10 into the stacking box 137, and a hitting member 136 on which a tip part of the bill 10 is abutted to lift it when the bill 10 is carried into the stacking box 137 by the carrying-in mechanism and which hits a rear end part of the bill 10 and drops the bill 10 downward in the stacking box 137 when the rear end part of the bill 10 is carried into a space for stacking bills. The hitting member 136 is constituted to abut on the carried-in bill 10 over the whole length in the longitudinal direction of the bill 10 when hitting and dropping the bill 10 downward in the stacking box 137.
