SOLUTION: A fixing roller 10 is supported to be rotatable with respect to fixing side plates 36a and 36b. A pressure roller 11 is supported to be rotatable with respect to pressure side plates 39 and 40. Pressure variable members 33 and 34 are supported to be turnable around rotation supports 41 provided to the pressure side plates 39 and 40. The right and left pressure variable members 33 and 34 are connected by a shaft 35, and the shaft 35 is connected to a link 31. When the image forming apparatus is turned off, the pressure variable members 33 and 34 are rotated accordingly, and the attitude of the link 31 is changed to separate the fixing roller 10 from the pressure roller 11.
