SOLUTION: The cogeneration system includes a power generator 5; a cooling circuit 10 cooling the power generator 5 with cooling water; a heat exchanger 16 provided on the cooling circuit 10; an exhaust heat recovery circuit 12 through which hot and cold water that exchanges heat with the cooling water through the heat exchanger 16 flows; a hot water storage tank 20 storing the hot and cold water heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger 16; a control part 21; a first temperature detector 17 downstream of the heat exchanger 16 in the flow direction of the hot and cold water; and a heater 18 supplied with the electric power of the power generator 5 in this order. Based on the temperature detected by the first temperature detector 17, the control part 21 controls the flow rate of a circulation pump 13 so that the detected temperature reaches the predetermined target temperature. By this, the hot water temperature can be stably maintained to a high temperature at all times while preventing the lowering of the temperature of hot and cold water in exhaust heat recovery and securing safety. Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively use the heat of exhaust that has been conventionally wasted, by a heater wherein water is heated by utilizing highly elevated heat of exhaust that passes an exhaust tube connected to an engine. CONSTITUTION:In the case that the instant heater is applied to a large-sized truck having front wheels G and rear wheels F, F, a heat collecting pipe B for heat exchange is wound around the exhaust pipe D that is connected to the engine A to conduct exhaust from the engine A through a muffler into atmosphere and is surrounded by an heat insulator. The inlet end and outlet end of the heat collecting pipe B are connected via pipes with outlet and inlet of a hot water reservoir C respectively. Thus, the heat of the exhaust passing through the exhaust pipe D can heat the water passing through the heat collecting pipe B, and the heated water is conducted into the hot water reservoir C to be stored therein. The hot water in the reservoir C can be used for various purposes suitably.
