Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform time display not troubling a driver, in the time display of a car navigation device, when coming and going through two time zones frequently, or when traveling along a road crossing a time zone boundary frequently. SOLUTION: When passing a time zone boundary, an area having a width of a prescribed distance from the time zone boundary is set on the time zone side of a North America mountain part. When a vehicle exists in the set area, a time on the North America West Coast is displayed continuously on a time display part 31, and on the other hand, a display form of the time display part 31 is changed. Change of the time display form is performed by, for example, changing a background color of the time display part 31, or displaying time flashingly. When the vehicle passes the set area, the time on the time display part 31 is corrected to the time of the North America mountain part, and the display form of the time display part 31 is returned to a normal display. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece enabling reduction of necessary memory size for application to wrist watches as well, enhancing user-friendliness, and enabling exact time difference setting. SOLUTION: The electronic timepiece is equipped with a GPS system acquiring time information and positional information by receiving satellite signals, a memory device memorizing domain data dividing geographic information containing time difference information into a plurality of domains and time difference information included in each domain, a time difference information acquiring means 22 extracting a domain, in which position information acquired from GPS system is contained, from the domain data to acquire time difference information included in the domain, a time difference information displaying means 23 displaying acquired time difference information as time difference candidates, a time difference information selecting means 24 selecting time difference information from the time difference candidates displayed on the displaying means on the basis of operation of the input device, a time calculating means 25 calculating the present time based on time difference information acquired through the GPS system and the selected time difference information, and a time display means 26 displaying the present time. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock assembly having world time zone display. SOLUTION: The clock assembly having world time zone display is constituted by a power source, a second counter, a minute counter, an hour counter, and a time zone display device. A first area mark of a site time zone is matched with a predetermined position via rotation of a time zone bezel, the site time is set, and a second area mark of another time zone of the time zone bezel is turned at the predetermined position. Thus, an annular tooth section of the time zone bezel interlocks and rotates a planetary idle gear group and a planetary basic gear, an hour front wheel performs a planetary motion along a minute wheel group on the planetary basic gear, and an hour wheel meshing with the minute wheel group is rotated to move an hour hand to the time of the second area mark. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time zone identifier for a geographical place. SOLUTION: The time zone identifier is generated by including the first information portion for expressing a time difference between a standard time and a field fundamental time for the geographical place, in the time zone identifier, with reception of a request, and by including the second information for identifying a rule when the rule specified when a sunlight saving time is obeyed in the geographical place. The second information is not included in the time zone identifier when no rule exists. Computer-readable data structure for the time zone identifier includes the first attribute for the first information portion, and the second attribute for the second information portion. A computer system includes a repository of the rule, and a time control module. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
