Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit board manufacturing apparatus having a control adjustment mode protective function capable of preventing a setting for the apparatus from being falsified when a management control mode is left unlogged off and its operating method. SOLUTION: The circuit board manufacturing apparatus has two operating modes, one is an operation mode in which an ordinary operator authorized to operate the apparatus is allowed to operate the apparatus and the other is a control adjustment mode in which only a specified user is allowed to operate the apparatus and the ordinary operator is not allowed to operate the apparatus. In the method of operating the apparatus, a protection control is carried out in such a manner where the control adjustment mode is automatically terminated at a point of time when the circuit board manufacturing apparatus has been operated in the control adjustment mode for a prescribed time without substantial operation for the control adjustment function.
