When the adhesion between the partially peelable layer 103 and the tacky adhesive layer 102 is defined as X A , the adhesion between the partially peelable layer 103 and the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 104 as X B , and the adhesion between the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 104 and the base material layer 105 as X C , X A B and X A C are specified in partial regions 106, 108 and 110 and X C A and X C B are specified in another partial regions 107 and 109. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification label which can be confirmed about whether information recorded thereon is correct or not and has improved counterfeit prevention property, a method of producing the identification label, and a method for checking the identification label.SOLUTION: The identification label includes at least one piece of identification information and a label characteristic value designating features of a shape or a state. The at least one piece of identification information and the label characteristic value are associated with each other. The label characteristic value is determined by one of an outer shape of the label, a relative positional relation between the outer shape of the label and recorded identification information, the number, sizes, and positions of openings provided in the label, and dimensions of the label or combination of them. Identification information and a label characteristic value are acquired, and it is determined whether an association can be restored from the acquired identification information and label characteristic value or not to confirm whether the identification information includes error or not.
