    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing various block polymers, armed polymers, or reactive-group-terminated living radical polymers by making possible the precise control of molecular weights and molecular weight distributions (polydispersity) (PD=Mw/Mn) even to the region reaching high molecular weights and to provide a living radical polymerization initiator for producing the above polymers.
    SOLUTION: A polyfunctional living radical polymerization initiator comprising a tellurium-containing compound having a specified structure is used. According to the present invention, it is possible to polymerize a vinyl monomer under mild conditions, to efficiently produce various block polymers, armed polymers, or reactive-group-terminated living radical polymers while making possible the precise control of molecular weights and molecular weight distributions (polydispersity) (PD=Mw/Mn) even to the region reaching high molecular weights.
