A system and method of forming a continuous strip from a plurality of strips, each strip having a leading end and a trailing end. Embodiments can include a forming apparatus that chamfers at least one of the leading and trailing ends of each strip. The chamfered trailing ends may then be positioned against chamfered leading ends of successive ones of the plurality of strips. Once a leading end and a trailing end are positioned against one another, a first welding apparatus may weld on a first side, from above, the trailing and leading ends positioned against each other to form weld joints. Once at least two strips have been welded together, the strips can constitute the continuous strip. An inverting apparatus can then invert the continuous strip and weld joints. The inversion of the weld joints can be done so as not to create a reverse bend in the continuous strip. A second welding apparatus can then weld on a second side opposite the first side, from above, the inverted weld joints to form weld junctions. A pipe forming apparatus can form a pipe using the continuous strip, wherein the successively welded-together strips can be continuously or semi-continuously supplied to the pipe forming apparatus to form the pipe.

After this, the films are transferred and guided to a peeling mechanism (4) so that the polarization film (F) is fed, while the separator being peeled by a knife edge, into an adhering mechanism (5). In synchronism with this feeding action of the polarization film (F), a liquid crystal panel (W) fed from a panel transfer device (18) is transferred and guided to the adhering mechanism (5), and the polarization film (F) is adhered to the liquid crystal panel (W).

The invention relates to a method for laser-cutting sheet steel (1), wherein a sheet steel (1) is gradually inserted in a defined position into the cutting area (2) of a laser cutter in a direction of advance V in order to machine it. The sheet steel (1) is machined by laser cutting in a machineable area corresponding to the length of the cutting area (2), in the entire machineable area or only in a section thereof. The machined part (8) and the non-machined part (8) of the sheet steel may also only overlap in some sections (10). An automatic discharge device is also provided. The manufactured parts and the remaining grid are likewise cut from the sheet steel (1) by laser cutting. The method can be repeated in several machining steps until the sheet steel (1) is completely machined, the results of the preceding machining step being taken into consideration for the subsequent machining step. The invention allows to optimally utilize the sheet steel (1) even when using smaller laser cutters.
