Abstract: PURPOSE: A top-down fire escape device is provided to rapidly evacuate people to downstairs veranda from upstairs veranda and to reduce production labor costs. CONSTITUTION: A top-down fire escape device comprises a drive machinery(20), a prefabricated main body(14), a catch mechanism(52), a fixed bundle(74), a handle, a winding mechanism(50), and a following sprocket wheel(64) etc. The drive machinery is included in a space part(16) of the prefabricated main body. The prefabricated main body is separated by 4 sidewalls. The catch mechanism controls the rotation of a driving shaft(42). The handle is connected to the fixed bundle and an operation cable(70). The line winding mechanism is installed in a supporting shaft(58) fixed to one sidewall of the prefabricated main body. The following sprocket wheel is fixed to the driving shaft. A first bobbin and a line which is unwound from a second bobbin are passed through an idle pulley. A line ladder is rolled or unwound from a third bobbin fixed to the driving shaft.
