    Abstract: PURPOSE: An aqueous dispersion of a polymer particle is provided to remarkably improve thickening efficiency when molded with a thickener or rheology modifier of the same amount. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous dispersion of a polymer particle comprises a granular polymer with 0.5-150 micron, containing 0.1-50 weight% of a monomer which is formed under the presence of a non-formaldehyde reductant, and has a Hansch parameter of 2.5-1.0; and 0.1-5 weight% of a thickener based on the weight of the polymer. A manufacturing method for a coated substrate comprises a step of forming the aqueous dispersion; a step of applying the aqueous dispersion to a substrate; and a step of drying the aqueous dispersion.
