摘要： A system and method for minimizing additional expenses by separating and recovering short bars in a way that improves the yield of the mill without adversely affecting throughput of a mill are provided. In a rolling mill in which long products are subdivided into bars having top and tail ends by a shear(10), wherein a majority of segments have full lengths, and some of the bars have unacceptable short lengths, a system for separating the bar(16) having short length from the bars(14) having full lengths comprises: a first roller table(12) for longitudinally conveying the bars from the shear to a transfer station(TS) which is positioned at one side of a separation station(SS), and at which the bars are accumulated in the form of a layer; a second roller table(18) extending from a terminal stop(20) positioned at the separation station to a recovery station(RS); first chain conveyors(24) that are operable forward to laterally transfer all of the bars of the layer from the transfer station onto the second roller table positioned at the separation station; and at least one elevator(26) having an open window, wherein the second roller table is operable forward to longitudinally move all bars of the transferred layer to align the bars at positions where top ends of the all bars of the transferred layer come in contact with the terminal stop; the elevator is adjustable between a lowered position under the second roller table and a lifted position lifting tail ends of the aligned full length bars above the second roller table; tail ends of the aligned short bars remain on the second roller table and are alignable with the window of the elevator; the second roller table is operable reverse to longitudinally convey the short bars from the separation station to the recovery station through the window; the elevator is returned to its lowered position to reposition the tail ends of the full length bars on the second roller table; and the first chain conveyors are operable reverse to laterally transfer the full length bars from the separation station to the transfer station.

摘要： To solve the above-described problems, the prevent invention provides a bottom-up supply grader for a separator. According to the bottom-up supply grader for the separator, objects to be supplied for separation are supplied on the same plane of a separation member of the separator in a line without overlapping each other, and a supply hopper is adjusted in height and angle to improve worker′s convenience. The bottom-up grader is attached to or detached from an existing separator and thus is easily stored and moved. Also, the bottom-up grader has versatility so as to be applicable to objects having various shapes and sizes, which are supplied to the separator.
