    Abstract: There are provided a molding device and a control method thereof capable of surely judging whether an error has occurred in the molding device. The molding device includes: error judgment index acquisition processing means for acquiring an error judgment index for judging whether an error has occurred in the molding device; integration processing means for calculating an integration value by integrating the acquired error judgment index; and an error judgment processing means for judging whether an error has occurred in the molding device according to the integration value. In this case, since an error judgment processing is performed according to the integration value of the error judgment index, it is possible to eliminate a high-frequency component generated in the error judgment index. Moreover, even when a noise is generated by jump or time shift in the error judgment index, it is possible to compensate the noise affect.     Abstract: A motor-driven mold clamping device (10) includes a servo motor (18) and a removable platen (14), with a toggle mechanism driven by the servo motor to advance and retract the movable platen for clamping a mold.
