Abstract: The invention provides a stable aqueous resin dispersion which contains dispersed particles having small diameters and is suppressed in bleed out and which is useful as a surface treatment, adhesive or coating material for polyolefin substrates, or the like. A resin dispersion obtained by dispersing a polymer (C) produced by binding a hydrophilic polymer (B) or an acid group to a propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer (A) made from propylene and an alpha-olefin other than propylene in water with the 50% particle diameter controlled to be 0.5mum or below, wherein the copolymer (A) has a propylene content of 50% by mole or above but below 100% by mole, a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of 10000 or above and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3.5 or below and the surfactant content of the resin dispersion is 15 parts by weight or below per 100 parts by weight of the polymer (C); and coating materials and laminates, made by using the dispersion. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009

Abstract: A butyl adhesive comprising maleic anhydride optionally with nanoclay is provided to improve adhesion between rubber and the surface of a substrate, particularly in tire steel belts, window vibration damping materials, and sails of sailing boats. A butyl adhesive comprises maleic anhydride-grated butyl rubber produced by the method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a solution of brominated butyl rubber in a nonpolar hydrocarbon solvent; (b) adding at least 1 phr of maleic acid anhydride, antioxidant and a catalyst represented by the following formula 1 to the solution; and (c) carrying out a reaction in the solution at a temperature of 120 deg.C or lower under a pressure of at least 100 psi to form maleic anhydride-grafted butyl rubber. In formula 1, M is a divalent metal; R1 is a C2-C20 alkyl hydrocarbon; and R2 is a C2-C20 alkyl hydrocarbon.

Abstract: A chroman derivative represented by general formula (I), a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a medicinal use thereof, wherein R is cyano, nitro, trihalomethyl, trihalomethoxy or halogen; R is lower alkoxyalkyl, aryloxyalkyl or dialkoxyalkyl; R is lower alkoxyalkyl or aryloxyalkyl; R is hydroxy, formyloxy or lower alkanoyloxy; X is N-H which may be substituted by lower alkyl, oxygen, sulfur or a single bond; Y is a residue of an aromatic or heterocyclic ring which may be substituted. The compound and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof have a prominent selective coronary vasodilator activity while having a minimized hypotensive effect. Therefore, they can selectively increase the coronary blood flow volume without the fear of causing sudden hypotension causative of tachycardia which adversely affects the heart, and hence are useful as a coronary vasodilator, in particular, as a preventive or remedy for cardiovascular disturbance such as angina pectoris or cardiac failure.
