Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for drying or solid phase polymerization of polymer particles by batchwise heating the same in an atmosphere of inert gas or under reduced pressure, which is capable of efficiently producing objective product by preventing the objective product from being contaminated by foreign matters generated by the wear of a sealing packing, a process for dying polyamide by using the apparatus and a process for solid phase polymerization of polyamide by using the same. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a vessel (1) that is equipped with a temperature detection portion (11) capable of measuring temperature even during a rotation and a suction/exhaust port (9) inside the vessel capable of reducing pressure and/or replacing with inert gas even during the rotation; and a suction/exhaust pipe (8) that is inserted into the vessel to communicate with the suction/exhaust port, wherein a rotational sealing packing of the suction/exhaust pipe is installed on the outside of the vessel.
