    摘要: A method, apparatus and computer program product for providing mulitcast failover and recovery which minimizes lost packets is presented. A first network device returns to a fully active state and starts a multicast hold-down timer. A first message is sent to a second network device, the message indicating at least one Split Multi Link Trunk (SMLT) Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) Identifier (ID) correlating to the multicast hold-down timer. The first network device receives an acknowledgment of said first message and Layer 2 forwards multicast data traffic to said second network device until the timer expires, whereupon the first device is capable of handling its own multicast data traffic, and then has Layer 2 bridging turned off and enables IP multicast routing. During the period of multicast hold-down timer, the second device will perform IP multicast forwarding on behalf of the first device.

    摘要: Multiple non-conflicting actions associated with filter rules may be located and applied to a packet using a single ACL lookup by causing action records to be created from ACEs in the ACL, and then causing the ACL lookup to return the action record rather than any one particular ACE. Radix tables may be created to enable a search engine to quickly locate the appropriate action record based on a particular set of attributes associated with the incoming packet. The action record can contain multiple actions taken from multiple ACEs that apply to the particular packet. By grouping all the actions into an action record, and then searching for an action record that applies to the packet, it is possible to apply all non-conflicting actions to the packet regardless of the number of ACEs that are used to specify those actions. Since all the actions are located together, the actions of all ACEs may be applied to a packet using a single ACL lookup.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a scanner and more particularly pertains to a handheld portable scanner with integrated technologies which effectively combines lighting, electronics and mechanical technologies and has a small size and convenient portability, which comprises a scanner housing, a battery, scanning components and image processing components. The scanning components are composed of an optical scanning head and a scanning rod. The image processing components are composed of scan-speed testing components which are coupled with the scanning rod, a processing chip for processing of data scanned by the optical scanning head and image processing, and a scanner circuit. The present invention provides a handheld portable scanner which has a convenient portability and extensive functions. More importantly, with the coordination of the speed testing components and the processing chip, the present invention can correct scanning errors caused by uneven speed of manual scanning by means of computation of the chip, thereby ensuring that the scanning output is the same as the original document. To ensure the quality of the scanned document, reminder function is also available in case the dragging speed of the scanner is too fast.

A first network switch learns first data associated with a second network switch and the first network switch terminates an Access Tunnel (AT). The said second network switch learns second data associated with said first network switch. The first and second data are synchronized between the first network switch and the second network switch. The first network switch and the second network load sharing tunnel data packets. The second network switch forwards tunnel control packets received by the second network switch to the first network. A failure relating to said first network switch is detected and a new AT is established with the second network switch.

    摘要: IP Multinetting on a local area network is simulated by performing VLAN translation at a port connecting to the local area network. This allows IP addresses from multiple subnets to be associated with a single VLAN on the Local Area Network (LAN), while allowing the core switch to process the packets with a one-to-one correspondence between IP Subnet and VLAN. When a packet is received from the local area network at an IP multinetting port, the VLAN ID will be read to determine if the packet contains the IP Multinetting VLAN ID. The IP Subnet address will also be checked to see if the packet is associated with an IP Subnet that is part of the Multinetting. If so, the multinetting VLAN ID will be changed to an IP Subnet specific VLAN ID before the packet is processed by the core switch.

A second network switch learns first data associated with a third network switch and the second network switch terminates a tunnel. The second network switch and the third network switch load sharing tunnel data packets. The third network switch forwards tunnel control packets received by the third network switch to the second network switch. A failure relating to the second network switch is detected and a new tunnel is established with the third network switch.
