Abstract:
Solar tracking assemblies and methods for tracking the movement of the Sun are described herein. The dual axis solar tracking system generally includes a foundation, a primary layer, a secondary layer, and at least one motor that controls a first and second actuator. The foundation is designed to uniformly distribute the weight of the solar tracking assembly in the absence of additional securing or structural supports. The primary layer is adapted to rotate relative to a primary axis. The secondary layer is adapted to rotate relative to a secondary axis. The secondary layer is adapted for attachment of a payload thereto which may absorb the Sun's energy.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for analyzing traffic on a network by monitoring packets sent between devices on the network and identifying applications occurring between devices on the network based on information derived from monitoring the packets. Techniques are provided to examine header information of the packets, such as information in the header of Internet Protocol (IP) packets, to identify applications that are occurring on the network. In some cases, information about the packet beyond the header information is examined to match a packet to a particular application. Using these techniques, a list is built of all of the applications occurring between devices on the network. Parameters may be generated to track one or more of the response time, latency and traffic volume associated with a particular device on the network.
Abstract:
A modified strongback for laying pipeline offshore that utilizes a movable clamp. One end of the strongback is modified to include a travel mechanism. A pipe clamp is mounted on the travel mechanism to allow movement of the clamp as necessary to accommodate different pipe joint lengths. A mechanism for locking the clamp in the desired position is provided on the strongback.
Abstract:
A progressive gaming system is configured to run many progressive prizes on one central system. The relationship between progressive group and prize with a particular game is designed so that the odds and bet on a particular game need not be identical throughout a group. In one embodiment, prize definition is in terms of number of coins expected to be played between prize hits, independent of denomination, and minimum number of coins returned to players, regardless of odds or denominations. When a progressive game is designed, the coins bet and odds related to the logic of the game are verified as compatible with the prize definitions coins expected to be played between prize hits. The prize definition is used to validate an association between a particular game and a particular progressive prize. Preferably the event that triggers a progressive prize may be unrelated to the events on any game.
