    摘要: Analysis and synthesis filter banks such as those used in audio and video coding systems are each implemented by a hybrid transform that comprises a primary transform in cascade with one or more secondary transforms. The primary transforms for the filter banks implement an analysis/synthesis system in which time-domain aliasing artifacts are cancelled. The secondary transforms, which are in cascade with the primary transforms, are applied to blocks of transform coefficients. The length of the blocks is varied to adapt the time resolution of the analysis and synthesis filter banks.

    摘要: Transfer functions like Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTF) needed for binaural rendering are implemented efficiently by a subband-domain filter structure. In one implementation, amplitude, fractional-sample delay and phase-correction filters are arranged in cascade with one another and applied to subband signals that represent spectral content of an audio signal in frequency subbands. Other filter structures are also disclosed. These filter structures may be used advantageously in a variety of signal processing applications. A few examples of audio applications include signal bandwidth compression, loudness equalization, room acoustics correction and assisted listening for individuals with hearing impairments.

    摘要: The invention provides a seal for a rotatable shaft. The seal includes an inner case mountable to the shaft and having a body and first and second flanges extending radially outward from the body. The seal includes first and second sealing discs operable to seal against the first and second flanges of the inner case. The sealing discs are immovably associated with a housing spaced from the shaft. A spring encircles the shaft and inner case to urge the sealing discs against the flanges. The spring rate of the spring is controlled to enhance sealing, reduce turning torque, and extend life of the seal.
