摘要: A transferring system for huge and high quality images on network and a method thereof are disclosed, wherein various individual image data are converted into high quality image data to be converted into layered image data, and classified into a plurality of sub cells, then stored in database as a compressed form. A client system connected to a server requires information, immediately downloads the required information, releases the compression, and then displays on a screen real time. In the present invention, a user can fast see only his wanted part since images of a newspaper and a magazine are converted as they were. Also, various additional information is provided with image, thereby providing multimedia digital publication services on wire or wireless network.

摘要: Lossless compression of fragmented image data is disclosed. In some embodiments, a stream of information comprising data elements having statistical characteristics is received. An encoded output is produced by an encoder comprising a data compressor that implements a variable length code that is adapted to the statistical characteristics of the data elements. The output and information from which the variable length code can be derived are stored.

摘要: Stereoscopic images are subsampled and placed in a “checkerboard” pattern in an image. The image is encoded in a monoscopic video format. The monoscopic video is transmitted to a device where the “checkerboard” is decoded. Portions of the checkerboard (e.g., “black” portions) are used to reconstruct one of the stereoscopic images and the other portion of the checkerboard (e.g., “white” portions) are used to reconstruct the other image. The subsamples are, for example, taken from the image in a location coincident to the checkerboard position in which the subsamples are encoded.

摘要: A mechanism of video coding is provided. The mechanism includes generating a reconstructed video frame. Noise suppression filter parameters are determined by partitioning the reconstructed video frame into blocks and matching the blocks to create patches. The noise suppression filter parameters are then determined based on the patches by creating a transformed matrix of patch frequencies. The noise suppression filter parameters include a noise estimation parameter that is a function of patch frequency. The noise suppression filter parameters are then employed to apply a noise suppression filter to the reconstructed video frame.

摘要: Disclosed are techniques for pre-processing an image for compression, e.g., one that includes a plurality of pixels, where each pixel is composed of sub-pixels that include at least an alpha sub-pixel. First, the alpha sub-pixels are separated into a first data stream. Next, invertible transformations are applied to the remaining sub-pixels to produce transformed sub-pixels. Next, for each row of the pixels: (i) identifying a predictive function that yields a smallest prediction differential total for the row, (ii) providing an identifier of the predictive function to a second data stream, and (iii) converting the transformed sub-pixels of the pixels in the row into prediction differentials based on the predictive function. Additionally, the prediction differentials for each of the pixels are encoded into first and second bytes that are provided to third and fourth data streams, respectively. In turn, the various data streams are compressed into a compressed image.

摘要: The present invention is a variable length coding method for coding coefficients in each block which are obtained by performing frequency transformation on picture data of a moving picture per block having a predetermined size, and comprises: a coefficient scanning step of scanning the coefficients in the block in a predetermined order; and a coding step of coding the coefficients scanned in the coefficient scanning step into variable length codes in a predetermined order by switching a plurality of tables to be used for coding. Here, a direction of switching between the tables may be one-directional. Also, the coding may be non-arithmetic coding.

An advanced color image can be obtained in a first image format comprising a number of parameters at a first bit depth per pixel. Values of the number of parameters of the advanced color image can be encoded into second values of one or more legacy containers, where each of the one or more legacy containers are of a second image format including the same number of parameters at a second bit depth per pixel. The advanced color image can be stored and/or communicated as the one or more legacy containers.
