摘要:
A communications interface provides for communications between a wireless communication device and a hearing assistive device. The communications interface converts a signal, including an audio signal, received from the wireless communication device into a format recognizable by a hearing assistive device. The communications interface generates a communication signal including the audio signal based on the converted signal and transmits the communication signal to the hearing assistive device using a low power radio frequency transmission protocol. The hearing assistive device converts the communication signal received from the communications interface into a usable format, extracts an audible signal from the communication signal, and manipulates the extracted audible signal according to a criterion associated with a user of the hearing assistive device.

System(s) and method(s) are provided for management of content(s) directed to a wireless digital media frame (WDMF). Management is facilitated by a service provided by a mobile network platform. A service subscription allows a subscriber to establish femto cell coverage in a location that host a subscribed WDMF(s); determine content(s) delivery preferences; and extend the service to a group of auxiliary subscribers. Various sources of content such as a mobile station, a non-mobile device, or a content server associated with a service platform (e.g., an internet service provider) can deliver content(s) and signaling. Integrity of content(s) and signaling is provided through access protocol(s) that exploits credentials associated with a source of content. Content(s) are managed through a content interface that conveys available content(s) in a source of content and an intended WDMF. Various alarm(s) can be delivered to a WDMF as a part of the content management service.

A mechanism for switching a wireless device between normal operation and a lower-power mode is provided. A wireless device has a selection mechanism for reducing the power output of the wireless device. The wireless device then returns to a normal operation mode upon user release of the selection mechanism.

A communications interface provides for communication between a wireless communication device (WCD) and a hearing assistive device (HAD). In an exemplary embodiment the communications interface includes a communications module to receive an audio signal from the WCD. The communications interface transmits the audio signal to the HAD using a Low Power Radio Frequency (RF) transmitter. The HAD receives the Low Power RF signal and provides a voice signal to the HAD user via a speaker. In some embodiments, the HAD includes a microphone and a transmitter. The HAD transmits a voice signal generated by the microphone to the communications interface. Exemplary methods for using the WCD and the HAD are also disclosed.

Devices and methods are disclosed which supplement a duplex frequency by providing one or more simplex frequencies and distributing data among them. Variations of the disclosed system include a server in communication with a communications device using a duplex channel. The server includes a scheduler that determines when it is no longer optimal to use the single duplex channel, and distributes data among the duplex channel and one or more simplex channels. Before sending this data, the server sends a schedule to the communications device through the duplex channel, so the communications device knows which bits of data are coming through which channels and at which times. A descheduler within the communications device receives the schedule and alerts the communications device to start receiving data on other simplex channels. The descheduler then puts the bits of data in order as they stream in across the duplex and simplex channels.

Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for broadcasting signals. The system includes a supplemental antenna at a first location co-located with a main antenna transmitting a main signal. The supplemental antenna is physically separate from a main antenna at the same location and transmits a supplementary signal adjacent to the main signal which matches or corresponds to a remote signal transmitted from an antenna at a remote location. The system transmits the supplemental signal at sufficient power to overcome interference in a coverage hole of the remote signal caused by the main signal. A supplemental antenna co-located with the main antenna can transmit the supplemental signal. The system can receive a supplemental signal that matches a remote signal, pass the supplemental signal through a same power amplifier and filter as a local main signal, and broadcast via an antenna both the main signal and the supplemental signal.

An electronic device includes a receiver, a processor, and a presence activation sensor configured to receive a signal from a user. The user signal includes a user specific performance parameter, or the user specific performance parameter may be accessed from a memory by the processor in response to the user signal. In non-enhanced mode operation, the device receives standard signals and outputs them according to standard performance parameters. In enhanced mode operation the device receives standard signals, as well as a user signal which triggers the processor to manipulate the standard signals to output unique signals according to the user specific performance parameters.
