摘要: An air conditioner includes an outdoor unit, an indoor unit and a plurality of communication pipes. The outdoor unit including has a gas close valve, a compressor driven by a compressor motor controlled by an inverter, an outdoor heat exchanger, an electrically powered expansion valve, and a liquid close valve. The an indoor unit has an indoor heat exchanger. The communication pipes interconnect the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The air conditioner determines, on the basis of compressor power supplied to the compressor motor from the inverter, whether or not a pump down operation is being performed in a state of a refrigeration cycle operation that causes the indoor heat exchanger to function as an evaporator of refrigerant. When the pump down operation is being performed, the air conditioner stops the compressor after a predetermined stop time has elapsed.

摘要: A refrigerant circuit is formed by connecting an outdoor unit (5) and an indoor unit (6) to each other with communication piping (18) including a gas pipe (16) and a liquid pipe (17). An alternative refrigerant R-410A is used as a refrigerant to be circulated through the refrigerant circuit. For middle-sized and large-sized air conditioners whose rated cooling power (JIS C 9612) is not less than 4.0 kW, a gas pipe (16) having an outer diameter of about 9.5 mm (with wall thickness 0.8 mm) is used. For small-sized air conditioners whose rated cooling power (JIS C 9612) is less than 4.0 kW, a gas pipe (16) having an outer diameter of about 7.9 mm (with wall thickness 0.8 mm) is used.

摘要: An air-conditioning outdoor unit of the present invention has a pair of primary ports of a four-way switching valve that is connected to a discharge port and an intake port of a compressor. A first secondary port of a pair of secondary ports of the four-way switching valve is connected to an external connection port, and a second secondary port is connected to an outdoor heat exchanger. Flexible pipes, are inserted between the first secondary port and the external connection port and between the second secondary port and the outdoor heat exchanger.
